Where can I get a Bar end mirror

If you ride with traffic, you can't see what is coming from behind without turning your head back.

Riding against the traffic, you can see  the traffic and if a vehicle is to close to the side, just go off the road (not always recommended with a road bike, I ride a mtb).  In the last month, I did it twice on the N12 just outside Kimberley.  If I stayed on the road, I would have been hit or nearly hit.

I think I know the root of your problem...

Ha! Thanks for the laugh

....tired of nearly dying....

Tbh I don’t think those bar end mirrors will help much

To small

The trick to looking behind you is to take one hand off the bars, and then turn your upper body to that side (right, if you take your right hand off)

With the ONE hand and arm out of the way it’s easier to turn around and less likely to cause an unplanned change in direction

I am sure Chris Froome will disagree with you!

That time you try to replace skills with gimmicks...

I remember teaching myself to do precisely this, and going and practicing in the street in front of my house until I could do it comfortably. It works a charm.

That mirror thing looks like it will tear a nice hole in your thigh, and if it gaffs your femoral artery, you're tickets.

Well, obviously the N12 is not the ideal place to ride, but it can even happen on a dirt road.  I ride like this everywhere.  Just a thing  I do.

Cool story. Like I said, I will take your word for it. No need try convert me. Not happening.

Safe riding bud.

Its illegal to ride against the flow of traffic with a bicycle

I use this one when I take my mtb on the road, it is small but works really well and also easy to put on and take off.

I am thinking of buying this one for my road bike, but still cant justify the cost.  I saw one the other day and if it is folded up you cannot see it is there.  But small but should do the trick.

On the contrary, exactly the opposite.  It is flexible enough and certainly not as sharp as a bar end or brake lever for that matter.

It is safer to have one than not at all in my opinion.  I need to narrow the odds.

Looks?  Who cares.

Roll on Friday
