Anyone got one of these, built one or knows how to build one similar?
Saw the usual idiot at the back of my property trying to cut my fence and pull the razor wire down....then he sees the camera and buggers off the the neighbours and nicks some steel....

Anyway.....I would love one of these...the clown took forever to decide how he was going to cut the fence....plenty of time to let him have some paintball magic...!

A friend of mine designed and built something similar a few years back. It even had a tracking ability to follow the target and keep on sending a steady stream of paint and pepper balls in the the targets direction. He had problems though with the "stepper" motor (or something to that effect) in that it moved too slow and quite jerky, but when target is stationary it was quite accurate.

He is an electrical engineer and owned his own security company. Unfortunately he is lost to SA, resides in NZ now.

I was thinking on doing a project like this with a Raspberry Pi this afternoon as some kids ran rampant in the estate with destruction following them.

Some solids and some pepper balls will sort a lot of problems.

Biggest challenge will be the tracking and the motors. You can try to run a stepper motor for accuracy, but might be slow. I played with a Pi and stepper motors before, but speed is a problem. Working with gears might work, but will have to be a bit robust and not crappy plastic gears

kids estate ?

like residents or people from outside ? the security should sort this out , if you live in there it's much easier to track you down and make this A mess for yourself + KIDS ?!   be careful with how you handle this

Both. But I know these residents are protected and can do as they want to due to racial tensions.

Security are not allowed to intervene anymore. If you get video evidence on them, they get two warnings and then they are fined with the 2nd warning and 3rd they are out, bit as said they are protected.

Oh and I won’t call them kids. Kids do not piss and **** where they want to. (And these are suppose to be potty trained)

Flip I needed this last week Monday night. At 20h27 some oke casually walked up to my gate, sticks his hand through my gate and proceeds to try steel my battery. I was in my office working and the CCTV screen sits right next to me. Luckily just after he had taken the cover off and ripped my control box thing off a car came down the road and he got up and ran off. This was when I saw him on the screen. I rewound and saw what had happened. Went straight outside and then put a message on the suburb whatsapp security group. My suburb is boomed off so he would still have been in the area but he was not found(he probably lives in the area!!!!). He did however get the battery from 2 houses down from me.

I now have an anti-theft bracket.

Well after another 2 attempted break ins since I last posted this, my neighbour being robbed again yesterday and the cops being there usual pathetic selves this seems more and more like a solution.

Not sure to kick this off with a Pi or Arduino?
I work at a tool and die place so I can get parts machined in steel or plastic or 3D printed or whatever I fancy...

Just where to start...??!!
