i can only imagine them being kind if the detour was in fact longer AND harder ito elevation gain etc? a massive downhill detour might just be what the doctor ordered in some scenarios lol

I have never seen an explicit explanation of the criteria they apply perhaps some of the old Munga riders can give their input. But imagine how this plays on your mind by day 4 you need to push yourself to the finish but you might get DQ'd anyway

Interesting strategy for LVDN looks like he kipped for 2 hours at WP1, I suspect to get out of the heat and rather ride in the cooler evening. Will he pass through RV1?

Taito left the route before Britstown two years ago. He rejoined the route later.

When he got to the check point at Britstown, he was informed that he would have to ride back to the point where he left the route and then back to Britstown on the correct route.

Bad memory,,,everyone going towards Cape Town Taito going towards Bloem.

It seems that with the back markers Alex does allow a little flexibility with a time penalty added on.If it's a major short cut then DQ

Okes, it's day 1.... Micro watching 10 minute breaks over a 50 hour race is crazy!

Isn't it more fun to check every few hours and see the changes as opposed to click refresh waiting for the tracker to upload?

Watch the last few hours. This 1st 20 hours is all just fluffing.
