Just do your own due diligence... You aren't responsible for others. Hopefully those entitled non bread line tjops who abuse the leniency get sjambokked all the way back to their 2 acre property.

Those who braai/socialise will get their families and friends sick and potentially kill someone. That is something they will have to live through and live with forever after.

Do your bit and you will be doing the most you can..... I don't think it's a waste of time. I think it's the best we can do in these really uncertain times.

100%..and I know it has to be done but I just feel like the 3 week 'lockdown' isn't going to make much of a dent in this problem judging by a lot of attitudes out there (white and black...rich and poor...)

I'm not disagreeing with that. Already frustrated and the lockdown hasn't even officially started.

But I also think if millions of people who are on lockdown and sitting bored at home are allowed to go excercise outside that is exactly what they are going to do. Streets and parks could then be filled with people excercising "on their own", especially in areas with higher concentration of people.

Like I said earlier - this lockdown is costing our economy BILLIONS, the financial impact will hit us for years - so why not do it %^& properly and get it over and done with? Is the risk messing up our sacrifice or extending the lockdown because people aren't able to stay on their couches for 3 weeks really worth it?

I agree, the business I work for can just about manage 3 weeks of no production and income....but if it has to be extended due to people making the problem worse then that will be the close of another business and more unemployed out there....

I personally think jogging should not be allowed, Absolutely no way you can control people not interacting (just have a look at the sea point promenade). If you allow jogging, that place will be packed and people will interact, then go to the shop where someone from a poor community is the cashier. Gets infected and its into the townships...

It also creates a very bad visual privileged people running around whilst the poor are forced to stay inside a tiny shack.

3 weeks of no exercise outdoors is a very very small sacrifice compared to those people

Please stopping thinking that a few privileged people who go for a solo jog and have heaps of food stockpiled are the nucleus of the challenge or an accurate representation of the of the population. You are not.

The majority of people in SA live in poverty and close proximity to each other. That is where the intended impact of these measures are aimed at.

If you are allowed too, and you go for a jog and do not come within 50m from another person, please explain to me to how that is contributing to the problem vs 500 people fighting over a packed of toilet paper at the corner store.

However, we've just allowed/encouraged this targeted populous to go for a stroll when the mood suits. This will not discourage social distancing.

Ok so seeing as we're all stuck inside training on whatever for the next few weeks let's have a little challenge.

Ride up Alp d'Huez/ Alp d'Zwift as fast as you can. The various training platforms will have a version of it. I know Rouvy does and I've seen about 6 million youtube vids on the Zwift version.

A respectable time up the Alp is under 75 minutes. I need to slash 25 minutes off of my time to be respectable. In my defense I was riding to a specific power.

No lying like Myles does about his weight and no E doping please.

Aaaaaaaaaaand GO!

Duane , I am only on level 11,5 ... need about 3 rides before I qualify .

Did ride up there in the Tour de Zwift last year .... 64 minutes and 2 weeks recovery ...

ZweliMkhize says there's no problem with jogging, walking the dogs and going to the grocery store during the #SouthAfricaLockdown.

He says the lockdown is to avoid congregating in large numbers. #Covid19SA #CoronavirusInSA

I agree 100%. Lockdown should be exactly that. Three weeks is really not that long. Gym at home, get that core strong or whatever. I see guys are planing on going fishing etc, wish we were not so selfish but ja. Stay safe guys and girls.

Because as long we stay away from groups then it is a good thing to go and exercise outside. Why limit freedom unnecessarily?

Lockdown is taking away freedom. Why take away my freedom to exercise alone outside? Why is this ok in many other countries?

Just imagine if we had millions of people exercising, we would have such a healthy population. Dont fool your self, the only exercise millions will get is walking from the couch to the kitchen.

Okes - saying it again  - the rules are not there to stop you dying. They are an attempt to protect infrastructure.

Every time you interact in the communal space you create risk for yourself. The virus just wants to replicate itself and by being in public you are are offering your body as the vehicle for that.
