Best Face Mask

Recommended Posts

I've ordered some Ciovita masks, hopefully they work because all the other masks including a Buff feels like I am being suffocated at the start, the water boarded 10mins into the ride.

I'll post my experience with them once they arrive.

Have you received your masks yet? Keen to know what they are like

As per Topic what in your opinion is the best face mask currently available to use whilst riding?

Please use other topics to discuss the merits of wearing a face mask, this one is solely for those who have decided to wear one . :offtopic:

I have ordered from https://iamactive.co.za/

This from the pic looks like a snug fit.

 and https://emask.co.za/product/black-pollution-mask/.

Like the idea of the exhalation valve, will hopefully make it easier to breathe!

Caveat:  emask website has no info on who the owners are and only contact detail is an email address so buyer beware

I would have tried the Ciovita mask but their website is showing out of stock.

I have used a buff as a mask but am looking for a better solution.

A sock works very well. Cut the Heel part to fit. Or go the whole hog and follow Suzell as introduced by Allan Windie

I have a few Xiaomi products and am very happy with the quality so would have no qualms in getting one of these which seem like a good solution.

Looks like you get a little motorised help with getting air through the filter

Apparently a new improved design in the pipeline.

Any solution to the problem of getting one to South Africa?

  • 3 weeks later...

Does anyone have any updated suggestions for masks to use while cycling?

The ciovita ones look the best (especially with the nose adjustment mechanism) but has anyone got these delivered in a decent amount of time AND how do these perform?

Can't comment on the Ciovota sport model, but the usual Ciovita mask is not usable at all for sport. The anatomic model seems to be best for sport.

It's law but it's not a criminal offence not to wear a mask. So in fact, they can't arrest you for it or fine you for it.

I wonder if any mask suppliers have considered creating a cycling specific mask that will allow you to take a sip on your water bottle whilst riding...
