Hi Guys,

 

Getting an upgrade and was looking into stand-alone (i.e. not with household content) bike insurance.

 

The value of the new bike will be a about R65k.

 

Would like to get some advice on the best companies to use?

I would suggest you call Galileo, their CEO and MD are both big cyclist, are both super lekker people and they sponsor cycling teams, so it’s good for us to support them.

Cyclesure through a broker.

My bikes are with household through a broker with OMI......50k each all risks about R230 each

You can get stand alone bicycle insurance through: 

• MiWay
• Discovery (if you have a medical aid with them)
• Cyclesure
• KingPrice (if you have car insurance with them)
• OmniSure
• JaSure (underwritten by Santam) - Fastest solution. 

Stand alone bicycle insurance, covers all the additional items where home and contents falls short. One prime example, theft away from home. Home and contents won't cover that.

Division of Hollard, their "no broker, call centre only" unit ....

 

 

All the big companies have their versions of this ....

 

 

I prefer to work via a broker ... to put it mildly.
