16 October 2021!

We've teased you for long enough now, our entries are finally open!

The Durbie Dash, presented by the Durbanville High School, is more than a fundraising event; it offers participants a wide range of activities and caters for Road racing and Mountain biking through the beautiful Tygerberg Hills and Renosterveld areas. All routes are well marshalled and water points well stocked.
Participants can choose between two road races (90 km and 46 km) and three mountain bike races (MTB) routes (60km, 45km & 25 km). For the first time will E-bikes be accommodated in the Road 46km and MTB 25km distances.

90km Road and 60km Mountain Bike distances are seeding events for 2022 Cape Town Cycle Tour.

You can find out more and enter the event on our website.

rode with BL today - my time and everyone else in that group seems out by about 3 min.  sent a (hopeful) query to racetec.

Our DC team (black & yellow DVCC) also rode in BL today. Was a lekker ride. Not nice seeing the aftermath of the crash in A though...

i managed to hang onto you guys until 81km and then those last hills cracked me ????

one of the guys in the crash is a work colleague, he says he's just a bit bruised, but his bike is not okay.

Msrshal on 60km mtb sent front half of the field in wrong direction and ended up going up the finishing climb and were stopped by Patrick and race organiser at Bloemendal restaurant (was wondering why the drastic route change). Rejoined race via Hillcrest ending up on 73km with serios mojo issues going up the mast a 2nd time.

And by fun a I mean PAIN IN THE RAIN but a cool experience

What rain ? The only unpleasant thing I noticed was that burn in my legs ????

Following this attack right before one of the bigger bumps of the day was really the begining of the end for me. Big numbers for a *** personnal outcome but hey, didn’t crash and learnt lots so can’t complain !

Actually at one of the turns there was that lady marshall right in the middle of the road before the turn yoh I just just avoided her that could have been a bad one !!

Did the 45k followed the arrows and landed up doing 65k! Wracking my brain trying to think at what point there was a split. ???? Nevertheless a great ride.

You were supposed to go up Malanshoogte road instead of going into Hoogekraal. It seems that the 45 km was actually 53 and the 60 was actually 65.

Yes, I was thinking the same, there was a water point here and the 45KM guys should have ridden up Malanshoogte, and 60km straight over to Hoogies, I asked all the guys at the water point if we should not be going up the road and not one of them had any idea, I did not want to spend the day behind the backmarkers of the 60KM so called it a day, I'm betting many of the 45km riders did this extra milage

Having not ridden a race in a while, at some point I heard some moron in a souped up car behind group the shifting down a few gears and reving the arse off the black lexus and hooting. I had flashbacks to being run over by a car, turns out it was the CSA commissionaire.

Then there was the support cars trying to pass groups on the final climb when it was splitting up, what were you going to do if your rider gets a puncture in the last 2km?

Anyway, besides that, was lekker riding again.
