Best of luck to all those Hubber’s riding W2W tomorrow.

If any of you would be kind enough to share their Garmin routes for us riding next week, that would be greatly appreciated.

And yes, I know I don’t need them, but I would like them if possible.

There's actually a rule against doing that. You can't even put the rides on Strava. I have no idea what would happen if you do.

12.7 GPS Data. No rider may distribute any GPS co-ordinates in respect of the Race route at any time (including but not limited to, uploads onto online platforms such as Strava), unless expressly authorized in writing by the Organisers.

Hopefully Epic don’t disqualify Matt Beers....all his Epic stages were on Strava:) lucky it is a stupid rule in the age of big data!

W2W won't go to the Houwteq side of the N2 where the squatter camp is. They'll go from Houw Hoek to Paul Cluver and just stay on the Mountain's side of the road and will be fine.

TBH I don't think W2W has been in the affected Lebanon trails in years.

You were right. They changed the route to avoid Lebanon.

I had such fun at the Chardonnay event.

the route is awesome!

just be aware that the distances on the stickers given to us were miles out! - many riders blew aiming for the specified distances

I see they have since updated the online figures to be correct. hopefully new stickers are made for the next 2 events.

Day 1 (66km) - actual 73km

Day 2 (63km) - actual 67km

No new stickers for Pinotage. Luckily I saw the distances from a buddy that rode Chardonnay.

Not getting into it all but you can still get covid and pass it on even if you have been vaccinated? Surely they don't want anyone there with covid regardless of being vaccinated or not? And on that I heard those antigen tests are about as accurate as jacob's maths! Eleventh nine percent.

Yeah we’ll sort of. Vaccination reduces the risk of transmissions as does having had covid. In combination the individual has best immunity.

the idea of immunity is your body destroys the infection before it reaches contagious level, therefore very low risks of further transmission.

anti gen test is just another hurdle to reduce risk even further.

Are they serious with the rapid antigen tests regardless of having been vaccinated already?

Yup... Used the form the provided and only paid R180. used the testing centre in Bellville. Booked appointment online, and got the results later the evening. Quick and Easy.

Yeah not disputing that, I’m more interested in were they enforcing it at registration I.e. you will not get your race pack etc. if you cannot produce the results. Just baffled that the most pedantic organizer of CTCT didn’t want it if you were already fully vaccinated but W2W does.

They are checking at registration.

i think that there is even a test centre at registration - but phone and confirm first as i saw the tent but never asked if they were indeed testing.
