A rainy late afternoon that would’ve levelled the playing field somewhat, especially near the top.

Daan Hoole taking all-out risks on the corners and earns his biggest career win with a mere 7 seconds over the impressive Josh Tarling.

Mountain time imminent. Hmmm. Don’t blink.

Simon Yates doing a good ride, my bet for number two on the podium.

Also nice to see Louis doing good, excited to see him in the mountains.

UAE with 4 riders in the top 10 and Vine/Majka should control the race. Ayuso & Del Torro young and unproven although Ayuso has podiumed in a GT. Watching the chaos in UAE with great interest, Roglic and others will be a beneficiaries. Maybe we see a surprise winner?

Ja I was wondering about this. 2 years ago Jumbo Visma was so strong they had a separate rider win each of the 3 grand tours. It both worked and didn't work though, as they narrowly avoided a total meltdown at the Vuelta and Primoz left.

I don't know too much about del Toro but he does seem like a good climber and stage racer in general so I'm looking forward to the next 2 weeks.

Also, if ever a rider was born to rider for Red Bull... del Toro.

I want a teammate like Wout. 500 meters in the wind and then a steady lead out around the 270 degree bend until the Olav could finally get a stage victory - his 40th professional victory.

The maglia rosa extends his lead and/or takes seconds from other rivals, allowing Ayuso to consent and save matches while keeping his powder dry for Week 3 where the GC battle will intensify.
Precious points for Team Picnic PostNL with a second spot, as they continue to battle getting out of the relegation zone.

The Maglia Rosa extends his lead extensively and there’s a moerse GC shake up after a big crash on a wet circuit finalé. There will be quite a bit of strategy discussions now which will lead to more dramatic and intriguing race scenarios up Mont Grappa tomorrow.

“After a tough year, the team believed in me and signed me… and after illness in spring, they gave me an opportunity quite soon to go for it… glad I could reward them with a win…”  - Kasper Asgreen, Stage 14 winner

speaking of bookies, here are the current odds. I count a few actual grand tour winners here, many way way down the order. Maybe this is the time to find out if Bernal has been trolling us (his juicy contract is up next year)
