What a great event this is. Despite many challenges my team faced we got through them all.

registration, rider substitution, rider timing chip purchase and activation, rider substitution again, rider bike mechanicals the morning before the start all smooth and sorted.

I'll come back everyear, long may the DC continue

Did you make your sub-6 @DieselnDust?

No we were far off.  Too many challenges before the start, illness in the team the week before , late substitutions late arrivals resulting in a late start. It’s was over before we rolled across the start line

With 12 peeps in the team there are so many stars that needs to align on the day & week beforehand to get to you goal. And if people drop out in the week most likely all riders that potentially can ride sub-6 and are decent team players are already taken!

Yes that is a big factor.
I lost hp and was lucky enough to replace one like for like. The last minute replacement was really difficult. Great guy , good rider but not the same hp so that threw a curve ball to the strategy. Excellent team player though so that meant I could rely on him to do the necessary when called upon.  I think as far as the riders I had goes we can build a sub6 team but it’s impossible whe you you haven’t a clue to the last minute drafts abilities and how to use them effectively. Eg the guy that I registered on Friday got the call to join in Friday morning 9:47 and he in his car from PE at noon. That’s commitment.

The biggest factor was travel arrangements with out of towners coming in late due to various factors including airlines. Then bikes needing to be found in the early hours of the morning , helmets forgotten etc etc .
min our case it was more a case of the stars pulling comets and meteorites and hurling them our way. I’ll cover it all in the ride report which I hope to get to during the course of the day.

when I saw you guys coming past I had a flash back to One Tonner and how lekker it was in that train and to lend the hand to the machine. Great ride by dvcc kirmacks btw. You guys looked fluid and worked like a well oil machine.

since my team was only finalised at 16:00 on Friday afternoon I simply wrote off the chances of a sub 6.

staying awake till 00:40 trying to sort out a mates front derailleur issue didn’t help either but it’s all in the name of the greater good of building a team. More on that later

Looking forward to the race report! Geez seems like a minor miracle that you managed to get a team on the starting line!

You've got way too much confidence in Google by including "& co" which is referring to their guest riders.
DMS will however not get you much closer... The company is DM Shopfitting.

Power team, and DM Shopfitting have been investing in the sport which is always welcome. Unfortunately I missed the race after some illness, but I'm proud of my little team's performance.

I was really hoping it would be a mystery shopping outfit with a dormant FB page. Interesting way to sponsor a sport!
