Type 2 or?

Cause for type 2, fasting to get into ketosis is a win.

Type 2

The 3 hour slots, with smaller meals and snacks in between works well for me - outside of cycling.  So this is a pattern we have adopted.  I know there are a number of other approaches as well ... but each one needs to become a lifestyle for it to properly work

I do 2 maybe 3 longer rides in a month.  Thus far I plan the ride so that the coffee stop fits into this pattern .....

Swartbergpass trip was longer and a heck of a lot steeper, and my planning fell horribly short .... that last climb from the Nature Conservation homes to the very top was brutal .... dont get me wrong - it was a bucket list item, and GLAD I pushed through it.  Now to adjust the planning and prep to be better prepared for the next one.

Nice. I was about to insert a funrider tag again.

How many fasted rides you do a week? All my rides (99%) are fasted, my body is so used to it now, I only fuel before a ride if it's gonna be 140km+

I intermittent fast most Mondays - Fridays, 3-4 rides, sometimes up to 3 hours with a 2nd coffee

Geomark, in the top image and vertically above the wing mirror, is that Compassberg in the hazy distance? Just wondered.

Roughly looking west from 40km east of Graaff Reinet, so no not Compassberg which is north of Nieu-Bethesda? I don't know the geography well enough to tell you what it is though.

Camdeboo National Park, makes a nice change to ride in a park (other than Table Mnt which doesn't count ????) did the 4wd route which turned out to be someone civil engineering skills whatsoever was let loose with a bulldozer, brutal steep ramps and flats like and endless uphill roller coaster. Saw one car the whole day.  Views were worth it though.  Next time maybe take the road bike and do the Valley of Desolation.
