Pidcock channeled his inner sausage dog better than the rest. They should consider having XCO back in Cape Town midwinter, the weather ie better here 🙂 TP is just insane. Had to double check what his actual racing calendar is coming up. Doing TdF and then Olympic road race, as well as defending his MTB gold. So he had to sneak this one in to check that he can still ride a MTB after coming 6th on GC at TdSuisse last weekend? Compare that to MVDP, who is the closest athlete who does this sort of program. He has just 7 racing days (TP=27) this year and pulled out of the olympic MTB to focus on roadrace. Must be so demoralising for the MTB guys who focus on just this discipline, to see someone breeze in and dominate. El Duderino, Headshot, nathrix and 3 others 6
DieselnDust Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Mvdp could also breeze in and out but lately I do t trust him to be able to keep a Mtb upright and it seems neither does he Underachiever 1
Headshot Posted June 26 Posted June 26 What's next..full face helmets for XCO? Poor guy, that sounds awful.
DieselnDust Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Raphael Auclair broke his collar bone and has a concussion from his crash at the same location on the last lap. turns out the riders and teams complained about the rock drop safety to the UCI and Warner Bros/Discovery vetoed the changes the riders proposed. The result was padding on the rocks and two riders needing to be airlifted from the course and venue. UCI commissaires were basically ignored by the broadcast rights owner Headshot 1
Headshot Posted June 26 Posted June 26 It's not like these guys are a bunch of newbie riders. If they say it's dangerous it's dangerous. Another reason to despise WBD... Robbie Stewart and mazambaan 2
Robbie Stewart Posted June 26 Posted June 26 This is akin to the Rampage and Hardline fiascos where entertainment trumps safety. And with that mad gap jump that Bernard Kerr and Matt Jones made, but on which Jim Monro had a very bad crash on it would seem that this is a trend that won't be going away anytime soon. I think it's a mere matter of time until a serious crash happens. And maybe then things will change. I am thinking of that ridgeline edit that Gee Atherton did which could have left him paraplegic, or worse dead. He is lucky to be able to walk again after that fall, never mind ride. DieselnDust 1
