Do they though? I almost never see any consequences for people who jump ahead to start in earlier groups. And to be fair to the marshals, also something very difficult to police in practice and one trouble maker can occupy a marshal for minutes while 10 others slip trough.

I know they’ve done it in PPA events so assuming the same will happen for the Argus.

I started in 2D, and already in our loading/holding pen, when some 1D riders tried to get into their group by moving the barricade of our loading pen (1D was at this stage just loading for their scheduled start) when the one female Marshall stormed them, stopping them from loading and shouted "you are late, you missed your start, now you will start later" and pushed them back into our group. Obviously, we all remonstrated with her, showing 1D is just loading for their start. It took quite a few minutes before she conceded and allowed them to load. You should have seen the look of relieve on the 1D riders faces. Strangely, not one of them opposed her, it was us 2D riders who showed her to the errors of her rude ways.

Going up Chappies, just before the tunnel, a 4A rider came blasting past us on his E-bike, and a few of us huffing and puffing up the climb, remarked that there is no way he started in the correct start group. At that stage we just saw 3A and 3B riders starting to filter past us, so he was definitely a huge outlier.

Sub-3's till one 1F, definitely was the year to chase it...

yeah, if I look at the same chart from last year, Sub 3 only up to 1B. Looking at my start batch of 1D, they were around 20min quicker than last year.

So actually my time is 20 minutes slower than last year even though actual time is only around 3 minutes slower.

Here's a histogram for 5D as well.

Thank you JM!

This boxplot actually shows that the seeding works out quite well. Yes, of course there will be outliers for various reasons, but in general there is a nice trend going slower times down the groups.

4C, D & E were "Internationals otherwise unseeded" who seems to have gone faster then all the seeded riders in Groups 2 and 3

I was in this group, my first CTCT. It was a wildly diverse set of people, fun riders to competitive roadies, would be nice to have a way to seed the competitive folks up a little further up.

That said, I can’t really complain. I had a blast, hit the time I wanted to hit, and didn’t really see any particularly unsafe behavior.

On Android, when you see the "first page" on strava, swipe the map up.

EDIT - the above worked when getting a notification of a friends ride.

When I now click on the ride, going via Strava not the notification link, I open the map and see the PB's.

not a paid member, so would expect others to see this as well.

Thanks for the reply @ChrisF!

I appreciate it. Still not seeing on my side for my own rides or others, but maybe it appears in future after an app update.
