So what are the best races to do between now and next year in order to get ones seeding better?

Cape Town based

Durby Dash in October

DC ... could be said it is in a different class to the 100km rides...

Winelands in January

99er early February

Tour de PPA is your last chance.

Elite numbers my man 💪

Looking at some of the "elite" riders numbers on Sunday, I could have ridden there... some not making a sub 3. (Excluding those that crashed)

There is video of okes dropped on hospital bend...

We are planning next year's ride already. Some changes to the buggy for a little less wind resistance without compromising the safety for the little warrior inside.

This will be on me so I'm thinking to "auction" off the bar used on the buggy this year and use those funds to improve it for next year. Glad I added it last minute because it made it so much easier to push the buggy.

We want to get closer to the Ebike powered/supported buggies. 😁

Aren't there PPA or CSA series that happen too? Cat1 to Cat4 etc?

I've seen the chatter but not sure which is which is which

PPA considers their races more elite than your CSA license so no, the WP road league races won’t count unless you phone a friend

WP Cycling has league races, but they don't count towards PPA seeding as far as I know. That cat racing is also 'n bietjietjie warmer than the PPA races!

As mentioned above, PPA One Tonner, Winelands, 99er and Tour de PPA are your best bet to help you increase your seeding. If you have a MTB, try and do Karoo to Coast in September.. that should give you a decent seeding for One Tonner, and from there you should move up a few batches with each race if you put in the training.

And what are the options for the people outside the republic of the Western Cape? The official seeding list is looking a bit thin for the rest of the country

That is good advice, thank you Johan

I have a road bike and I have 'some' experience racing bikes, but just very out of the loop as to which races focus on in order to jump a group or 7

Thank you all for your input

This is a good strategy to game the system. If you have a gravel bike , gravel races also give you a better beta and that will bump your seeding.

For MTB, worth checking if Vines & Views are still a CTCT seeding event.

Less and less opportunities for upcountry riders to get seeding races.

Cape Town based

There's a few around Sep/Oct/Nov and then again Feb.

Most difficult/highest beta includes PPA One Tonner, Double Century. And races like Tour de PPA and Durbie Dash.
