Hi

Currently I own a Merida Silex 4000 2025 Model.

After a bit of finetuning I'm loving the bike and everything it has to offer.

My dream gravel bike would be one that can take a 29 x 2.25 tyre.

I like the look of the Sling Tagati. They are based in SA which should make buying it a bit less complicated than a Curve.

Any Tagati owners out there that can give some feedback on their experiences?

Hey @white tiger, the Sling Cycles team are super helpful and responsive. They will go the extra mile to help you out. That's been my experience dealing with them.

The bike has also been great thus far. I'm running the GX AXS mullet setup with a fairly big ring on the front which has made the bike super versatile for being on the road too. Hard to go wrong with this bike.

If you DM me your number I can send it their way for them to make contact.

nothing against this bike at alll, but if you're looking at the Curve and having issues this week then it might be because mr Benky who is the local Curve guy is doing the Atlas mountain race kicking off tomorrow. he's a top guy,

Did Mr. Benky not move to Santa Cruz?

I have a Sling Tagati - the one with slacker headtube angle and sliding dropouts. Running it as a monster cross with 2.4 tyres and wide flared gravel bars. Great ride. Very compliant in rough corrugations. Just completed Munga 2024 on it and it was a great ride. Finishing of the welds is top notch.

I see that you have external routing. Is that something that you opted for? Beautiful bike!!

Yes, I went with the external routing. It allows me to switch to flat bars if I need to without having to cut the brake line if I used the internal routing.

Thanks. Makes sense.

See it's set up as a SS, did you ride the Munga SS?

If this is an L or XL frame and you don't want the bike anymore, I'll take it.  Thanks for thinking about me.

LOL. It’s a large frame - similar to 58cm.
Sling were clever when they designed this as it’s built for bikepacking - numerous additional options for bottle cages and bags to be bolted to frame. The larger triangle is great for frame bags. It can also be fitted with a rear rack or aero pack.
The other nice feature is it has a split rear stay so belt drive is also an option.
