Hi all,

Random topic;

I am in Durban (humidity 200% +) and am battling with a face sunscreen that doesn't just melt off my like a snowman in summer by the time I've cycled 1km downhill due to the humidity.

Does anyone have the solution for me? Please??? I have tried Nivea Matt SPF 50+ face cream as well as some super expensive Le Roche Posay (anti eye sting) stuff (the French clearly don't have humidity) and am just at my wits end. Or, do I just invest in post sun exposure cream to try fight the aging and sun damage?

I can't be the only one battling...

Hi Colleen, I lived on the tropics for a number of years and found that it helped if I applied sunscreen at least an hour or two before I went outside. In fact I still apply sunscreen after showering and brushing my teeth each morning, 365 days a year. After a early morning ride I would apply another layer for the day.

The Island Tribe clear gel lotion works wonders for me. If you sweat a lot it still stays on your skin and protects.

Agree Cetaphil Sun 50+ , apply it 15 minutes before you ride and then again just before you leave to ride. Was referred to my by my dermatologist. Seems you can only get it from a chemist though.
