Would this light add 50 watts to the bike, or would it take 50 watts away?

The more things change .... the more they stay the same.

Most lights:

- 2 to 3 hours on full tilt

- 7+ hours on flash (okay, the very small units much less)

- so the brighter you need to be ... the larger the unit to pack the battery for those 2 to 3 hours of full shine.

Flash .... only when the sun is up.

Bontrager .... they certainly have some very good lights !!

I have a Ravemen 1200, has setting for both ‘Road’ (shaped light) and ‘MTB’ (unshaped light). MANY settings, incl digi read-out of battery time remaining, having USB in AND out, means you can charge a cellphone on the fly…

It is not light-weight; that would (maybe) be a unicorn light! But a VERY capable/solid light.

Three resent disappointments in a row ...

Used for road and gravel riding in the dark.

1. Magicshine CBL 1600 - extremely poor battery life and poor cheap plastic mount. If the battery life was not that poor I would have bothered to buy a new mount. but making this part from cheap plastic is just a bad idea.

2. Extreme Light (Trail) - weights a ton. The not so bright beam and average battery life does not make up for the weight. This thing is heavy on a handlebar with no other mounting option.

3. Wuben 1300 Lumens - Don't believe all YouTube revies... If you select the brightest option, it dims to a lower light after 1 min. No matter what. fully charged - other brand-new battery. Heavy as it uses a bigger 21700 battery.

The 1000 lumens Ryder at the front outperforms all above:

Wider beam; better battery life; weight (use a 18650 battery and can be replaced) and mounting options.

+1 for the Fluir Elite. Been using my first one for 2 years - bright enough to run for a full night on the "low" mode on jeep track, and swap to med/high for more advanced trail riding.

I bought another for a Munga Grit and it worked excellently, and I've been using them for night-time trail rides on some (black/blue) trails with no issues. Honestly thinking of getting a third as they double as excellent camping torches - bright, wide, good battery, and lightweight.

Ja we’ve got 3 and they all work extremely well after the 2 years. My daughter has dropped hers a couple of times and while it “thinks” for a moment before it starts charging these days, it hasn’t let us down yet! None of them have ever gone flat-flat, as I always charge them when the ring turns red. They’re really such bang for buck.

You will never buy another light again.
Previous one lasted 10 years before I replaced it with this road specific one

Maybe I am old and grumpy, if you going to have a website, at least add the pricing. I do not have the inclination to ask for a quote.

Just give me the price upfront. No price I just move along to the next online shop.

Agree 100%.

Been down that route and I am still using my Ryder after 6 years, battery and all.

Best light I have owned.
