I took part in this year's race with three friends. We flew in from Germany for the Tour du Cap and the CTCT. My friends enjoyed SA and the race so much that they bought entries for 2026 the first week that they were back in Germany.

We were planning on buying flight tickets and booking accommodation this week actually. 🫠

Smart thanks - yes that could work, as there are quite a few couples who come where one is on a regular bike and the other on an e-bike and everyone rides together.

Well you could still get some cents in the rand as part of the liquidation process! Sometimes you enter and see that extra checkbox with event insurance, I always ignore it but will think twice again in future if it's not that hefty.

Would be interesting to see how much the creditors are in cycling entry fees alone. Clearly these were profitable events, so have been dragged down by the issues in the musiekbedryf. Why these two weren't separated is a bit ridiculous, but hey this is someone operating a multimillion rand business with a gmail account so let's not be too surprised.

I wonder how many thousands he ripped us cyclists off with his obviously desperate way to bring in bucks by way of spamming low cost entries. He  owes me about 5 grand in entries.

I kept it because I'm curious to see what happens.  - the channel suggests I subscribe but all that I see is a playlist of beegees, Theunsn Jordaan, Dire Straits, Toto, Simon and G, - I immediately wanted a brandy and coke and an almost uncontrollable urge to put some boerie on a grid.
