I know it's illegal to use one of these on a public road, but what about selling them? Can the cops just go to this summitbikes shop and confiscate everything?

They are road legal in South Africa

So what would we all be willing to pay for that 400k pogi bike?

Interestingly, in NL you can buy the Colnago Y1RS with Sram Red group for 12300 euros. Not sure why cyclelab is asking R400k for the V5RS.

"Road legal" ?????

We seem to be reading different versions of the SANS codes ..... or at the very least you are treading a VERY fine line of the defenition of a "motor vehicle" as noted in (iii) ...

Worth noting the liability of the "importer" as noted higher up the same document.

See attached .....

I've been riding motorized bicycles for years already and never been pulled over. I see many people commuting with these bikes too.

Same as dirtbikes, sxs and quad bikes, you just selling them to people for non road use. Nothing illegal there

ja that's kind of why I flagged it. Lots of people buying tik and getting away with it doesn't make it legal.

Seeing these things all around now. Fun toy for a kid, accidents waiting to happen.

that didn't look like a hydraulic brake at first, but ad does say Shimano 4 piston, which is probably going to be needed to stop this beast.

70cc, surely that requires licence and registration to be on our roads? 10hp - that's like  7500w ebike.

we needed a license to ride 50cc motor bikes as scholars, so I would imagine this is treading on some grey area where its classified as a bicycle just because it has pedals attached to a crank.
