The Ouzo Posted March 26, 2022 Share Time to revive this thread. Heard of an incident in Kempton Park this week, through the clover leafs from Pomona/ Dan rd onto Atlas, Strava segment is called Dan rd rollercoaster. Husband and wife held up and robbed of all personal belongings. Not sure if bikes were also taken.

The first report came from a cyclist on Horwood Street, Edenvale. The cyclist was ambushed and assaulted by multiple suspects, involving two vehicles. The first vehicle stopped infront of the victim whilst the second (bakkie) stopped to the side of the victim. The suspects quickly overpowered the victim and stole the bike. The second report was from a cyclist in the Edenvale Avenues with a similar modus operandi. We would like to warn all cyclists that this could be a syndicate and that our Investigations Officer is looking into the matter. Please exercise caution when cycling. Try to travel in groups when possible to make yourself less of a target. If you see any suspicious behavior do not hesitate to contact Mamba on the Emergency number (011) 609 - 0227 #JoinTheTribe #StaySafe this is from the edenglen cycling groups swingTOpeddle
The Ouzo Posted April 6, 2022 Share Was alerted to this a few minutes ago. Strava puts me there at 6:25 this morning at least it’s only a few hundred meters to walk home from there but seems to be the same syndicate PLEASE NOTE: There was a bicycle hijacking this morning at 06h30 - corner North Rand and Elizabeth Road, Beyers Park. 4 armed b/m in a White Ford D/Cab bakkie. Please try and cycle in groups as these hijackings are on the increase.

JuddMan Posted April 6, 2022 Share Got a forwarded Whatsapp this morning on our training group that there was a bike jacking on the corner of North Rand Road and Elizabeth Road (Boksburg) this morning at about 06:30. Modus operandi is 4 armed suspects in a White Ford Ranger double cab. They knock you off the bike with the bakkie and then rob you. Please be aware/careful.
