Thanks chaps, Ryanpmb has helped me work out what I want, he knows his stuff. I'll post pics once everything arrives.

I'm looking for options on ss cranks. Any ideas?

Paul cranks look great, but apparantly hard to come by.

Oval chainrings on a SS? Sacrilege! What next....hydraulic disc brakes? Shame on you! ????

I think they call it "marginal gains"????

  • 2 weeks later...

Right... the frame and fork (Singular makes stunning forks) have arrived at my local post office but I am in JHB for work so it has to wait for me to get home. *sigh*

Hoping to build the bike on Friday morning. As usual, Chainworx in Durban will be doing the spanner throwing.

Any tips on the EBB? Grease well before the initial build? Any specific grease?

EBB is great, but make it your mission to clean and grease once every 3 months and don't over tighten! It will be a pleasure if you stick to that.

Thanks bud, your advice is always spot on! I am in JHB full time until the end of July, we should meet up.

"that's a nice bike" KZN classic indeed, and proudly RSA. Need to cut the steerer, though.

Love mine.

Mongrel build, but these single speed things do a lot of life therapy for the self without much investment. attachicon.gifMorewoodSS.jpg

Awesome bike Lance! We have one of those in our collection and it I just spectacular to ride. I love that fork! Great build.

Last week at Gamkaskloof (Die Hel). Only did the climb up Elandspad and back to the camping site.

What fork is that? I'm toying with the idea of a rigid fork on my 26"

Surley karate monkey 29er fork on my 26er Giant. Axle to crown basically the same as my old suspension fork.
