It will get better when the new fork goes on.... but they are nice handling bikes, and the paragon slider seems to me to be a better solution than the inbred's sliding dropout arrangement - re-aligning a brake caliper every time you tension the chain does not seem like fun to me - may still be surprised on that though - have to wait and see.

 

I figured I would get annoyed with the inbreds horizontal slots, but should I ever have to increase chain tension by sliding the rear wheel back there is still more than adequate bite on the rear rotor from the rear brake that I do not have to adjust the rear calipers at all.

 

I have taken the rear calipers off before to clean them out nicely by simply removing the side bolts and not the top bolts that effect side to side alignment and simply bolted it back on again with no hassle what so ever.

 

It is when you do the side to side adjustment that you need to get is spot on and spend some time making sure you have the calipers fitted properly.

 

After the above I do still like the idea of the paragon sliders as it is a really simple and neat looking system.

I saw you and your mate at SBR looking strong! I was in disguise on a road bike :-)

 

Those hills at SBR were flippin tough on the ss, great training though.

To really tension the chain properly you need to have chain chucks from On-One . I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and still waiting so have made my own over the weekend . Works very nicely and did not have any chain problems at the Babaas race .

Agreed, have one on both the drive and non-drive side..... just in case ;)

Very nice....I'd be tempted to pull those stickers of the fork though - stealth mode.

 

Must be nice and light now! How's the other project coming along?

EXACTLY what I thought last night... The other project is why I haven't though.

 

If the fork stays on the Cotic the stickers will come off. I might move the fork over to the Niner though and make an even lighter bike with the Alu frame. Will then see what the decal'd fork looks like on the Niner...

i can be wrong but i think your rotors are the wrong way around. normaly you wont have the pionty ends pointing to the brake
