  1. Sometimes you need to say “Screw the weather I need to clear my head” and then just go ride.
  2. Sweet. Thanks. I’ve managed to have my geyser running on a SONOFF for about 6 months, have the pool motor plus a few lights too. The gate motor was the next step
  3. We need to chat about how you got your gate motor to work on a SONOFF As for the fan, surely there must be a SONOFF hack out there that will link it to HR.
  4. my bike took me to my first fall in a good few years. As I'm riding up my road a little brown dog starts chasing me. I get to the end of the road and he won't leave me alone, so I turn back hoping he would follow me to his house and stay there, but no he keeps following, I speed up hoping he will give up if I'm to far away, I get to the main road and he carries on, but now its dangerous for him, so I turn back and get him to follow me back into the suburb. Only, because I didn't want him to cross the street during peak traffic I'm now riding on the wrong side of the road. I approach a 3 way intersection and a car stops at the stop sign, I'm slowing down now to almost a standstill whilst waving the car through the intersection. Next moment, because of my waving I start to wobble, only now I'm right next to a storm water drain and I have nowhere to go, so over onto the pavement I go. Luckily nothing more than some light abrasions on me, I didn't see anything on the bike, I'll check it nicely tomorrow when I give it a clean. I got up, people in the car were very concerned that I was ok, little doggy kept following me, but this time I decided the best thing for the dog was if I lose him through the neighbourhood where he will be much safer.
  5. So thats me done for the year, managed 11th spot with 1683km. Was hoping to do a commute today but the weather isnt playing nice.
  6. Got a mate training for his first triathlon. So went out to the cradle with him for an easy ride for me offering him support and motivation.
  7. I need these. But timing is real bad, I'll have to wait and see if they pop up again and similar pricing during the course of next year.
  8. see if you can find anti-rattle tape. It's an automotive product. basically a roll of material with a sticky backing in tape form. A strip of that around the bars to prevent chaffing and it does not detract from the bike. i use it on my road bike to finish off the bartape instead of using insulation tape.
  9. you've told both apps to synch with Strava, choose one of the apps to do the synching and turn strava synching off on the other app
  10. 30% off apparently at the store you're vye'ing to
  11. As others have stated, not a good idea, I will most certainly not be an active member anymore if that happens. The successful forums have a community aspect, users are not just names on the screen but become mates. And the only way to develop that is through off topic chewing the fat discussions. I already feel this forum is over moderated, now you want to go all gestapo on us. If the offtopics section is giving you grey hairs maybe have some big disclaimer or something when entering that section stating that it is not moderated (or limited moderation) and any views expressed in that section do not represent BikeHub .. bla bla bla.
  12. I have the same lights, damn, did not know you could do that with the mount. Going to have to investigate.
  13. Has anyone ordered from them recently ? I ordered a few items in August, I know it takes forever so have not bothered to check. Decided to go onto the app now and it says my items arrived in the country in September. Do you get any notification when the items are waiting for you ?
  14. I've got black friday fatigue already, twice as much spam in my inbox every day, companies I've never heard of mailing me, companies I've last heard from a year ago spamming me. No real specials I can see, and even if there was, no free budget to take up any offers.
  15. I'd be very worried about the trucks in those areas.
  16. 2067 , dont bother with it. It wasnt entertaining enough to ignore the huge holes in the plot.
  17. Many many years ago a runner friend of mine bought me a box frame stull medal hanger. What I like about it is that it has a glass front to it so the medals dont get dusty just hanging about. Would love to get another or a bigger one, just havent seen them anywhere.
  18. I'll have to add his channel to my ever growing list
  19. someone been doing donuts on your nice new road
  20. contact them, I'm sure they will happily exchange it
  21. every photo you take with your phone has the GPS location stored in its metadata. (unless you turn the setting off) Whether you recorded the ride with your phone or not, if you upload that photo to the activity on Strava, Strava will use the metadata to show where the pic was taken.
  22. thats interesting. Nobody I spoke to could be bothered sourcing me one. So I landed up making a McGyver Plan with a longer bolt and nut. I'll keep this in mind, I want to replace the plate but even R120 at this time is a problem for me. If you search the forum there is a thread on here about my repair https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/186296-shimano-rd-5800-retap-or-new-derailleur/
  23. what ever you buy, were ever you buy from, just make sure you know the normal retail prices before the advertised "specials". It happens way to often that the specials are not actually that special, I've seen black friday deals being advertised that are more expensive than normal run of the mil specials that get run.
  24. As a non drinker I dont see the point of drinking until you get wasted and cant drive. By all means have a dop or 2, but drinking to the point where you wake up with hair on your teeth and a head that feels twice its size and possibly not even remembering where you threw your name away the night before just never made sense to me.
