  1. Yowser, give the the guy a break, who cares if he's punting a business on his first post? If you're this worked up by 05:50am I'd hate to see you by 8am Chillax brospeed.
  2. I have the Garmin 500 and my mate has the Bryton, He hates the Bryton largely because of the web interface, also found the device to be a bit nigly. My Garmin hasnt given me any problems only once in a blue moon it doesnt pick up my power meter and Garmin Connect is fantastic. Depends on your budget but from experience with both units, I'd suggest the Garmin, they are priced differently which I guess counts for something.
  3. if it were Columbus SL or SLX Tubing and the frame name ended with Mercxk and it had complete Dura Ace Group then R5K would be a fair price but as thats not the case I recon a fair price for this bike would be R1500 as-is.
  4. Depending on which model power tap you have, you're looking at a weight difference of probably at most about 300 grams to the Eurus Wheels and most of this weight is at the centre of the wheel where the impact isnt that significant so race the power tap, if your race wheels were a set of Lightweights or Bora Ultra II's then its a different story as the weight saving is significant. Wheel based power metre's have their pro's and con's as do crank based systems, dont let anyone tell you one is better than the next, you need to weigh up your options and work out which suites your needs better.
  5. Went there yesterday and it was awesome, 5 minute ride from my house Agree that the markings on the return leg of the blue route are confusing, we got lost a couple of times, a suggestion from a fellow rider was to maybe number the arrows? Anyone know if its going to be open on Fridays? Quite a few of us are keen for a Friday afternoon ride there.
  6. My 10 year old son did the 10km USN ride this weekend and I decided to ride it with him just to give him tips on what gears to use, what line to take etc... and I must admit, its pretty insane at the back of the field, I saw some scary **** on Saturday. I get what the OP is getting at I just think his choice of words werent the finest The problem with beginners (in any sport) is that they dont know that they're doing wrong to start with, they're taking the event as serious as anyone else they just dont have the know how and experience so are oblivious to the fact that they're doing something wrong and potentially affecting someone else's race, there is however something called common sense and I kinda also get irritated when people don't use.
  7. anyone know what time the kids race starts? entered my 10 year old and want to make sure I'm there on time.

    Wilro 2012

Is the route different from last years?
  9. Um. how do we know that SBR is even being closed to cyclists and that this story is true? Agree that people / cyclists shouldn't litter but maybe we're all getting worked up for nothing!
  10. JB, how do you know they're closing it to cyclists? is there an article somewhere that you came across?
  11. I had my sub-3 shattered 5km into the race, went off in VA group but they made us ride with the Elites, 5km into the race there was a huge accident across all 4 lanes which I got caught behind, was chasing the bunch from there for the next 104km, cramped so badly at the end couldn't turn my pedals for the last 10 km, rode 3:03, super peeved.
  12. any live updates on this somewhere?

    Tubbies

biggest advantage with tubbies in my opinion is the weight, tubular rims are generally lighter (by up to about 200 grams) than clinchers. As for the rolling resistance etc... thats a whole debate on its own and has been covered on thehub and internet in great depth.

    Argus tire pressure

and I thought I was pedantic

  16. Probably the same DD plonker that got into the split with me on two occasions yesterday and then refused to roll through, why get into a move in the first place! I saw he had a close call a few times in the bunch yesterday, CSA needs to put some controls in place when issuing full race licenses, a good percentage of the licensed bunch this year are out of their depth and it makes for dangerous racing.

    Fast One

VA Bunch was insane, guys riding into each other, pushing each other off the road (on purpose) heading into the sprint, was kaking myself, really makes me mad to see guys doing that in the bunch in amateur racing, these guys need to catch a wake up, lots of us have families with small kids and dont need to go down in a pointless crash! Bad crash in the Elites in front of us on that corner with the slippery surface. Apart from that was a pretty cool race but lots of negative racing until a handful of us got involved to bring the break back.
  18. And no one picked up on the fact that its had a re-spay by CycleArt? EDIT, woops, I see HeartCoppi did Bike has some interesting bits on it.
  19. Maybe try contact CSA and see if you can get a wildcard, with your results I'm pretty sure they'd consider it. With all due respect to guys like Cronje and Fullard, it was their call not to race, they said the race was poorly organised so withdrew at the last minute, but I do agree with you, they're the type of riders that should definitely be there to give us good exposure but thats why there was a qualifier.
  20. Nah, I dont think so I looked at that as well and it didnt look like it was the case, it's also hard to work it out because if you've moved up an age group for the final but raced in the lower cat for the qualy then you dont know what the number of entrants are, 35-39 for example, had 21 entrants in the qualy and 31 have qualified for the final. I also wonder if they'll make us ride for key riders (i.e. top 5 per cat) or if its a free for all?
  21. Anyone know how the qualifying was calculated? I've looked at the number of entrants vs the number qualified etc... and cant work out how they got to the riders in each age group.
  22. I got this last week, just want to change the wheels to Bora Ultra II Dark Labels.
  23. The one with the Titanium collar
  24. JB vs Ti dude!
  25. Go to a crafts shop and buy some of those little paint tubs they use on model aircraft, get a small paintbrush and touch it up, could also smooth it out a bit with some fine sand paper once done but do this with caution.
