As much as the idea sounds great and very appealing. Right now, I unfortunately have to sell.
My bad, I have edited the pots. It is a Large, Full carbon.
Good Morning All,
It's been a while since I have last posted anything on Bikehub. Since Covid, life has not been the same for me, I'm unfortunately a long Covid sufferer, and cycling has had to take a major back seat, and I have been out of the scene for almost 4 years now.
I pulled out my old 26" Giant XTR Hardtail Full Carbon ( Large) from storage, it was going to be converted to a 650B/ 27.5" bike, unfortunately, the funds seriously dried up, and I have other priorities.
My question is this, is there still a market even for 26" bikes, what would it be worth, if any? Should I sell it as is, or break it up into parts? I just have no idea of the value of any more of the parts, or where to even begin. Everything has been well maintained and looked after,
I have attached the bike as it currently is. I also have pics of all the parts if I were to break it up.
All suggestions and comments are welcome, please.
Thanks,
Caerus
I must say, I have just had a pleasant experience with the selling of my bike, had a few enquiries, some no responses after initial enquiry, then bosh, a guy got in touch this morning and the deal was done this evening.
I hope he has many happy pleasant miles and endless trails on hios new bike.
Still the greatest thread on The Hub, and he is back.....
If anyone is still looking for an entry, myself and some mates got entries ysterday and this morning.

Good Luck
Fond memories. I had a Gotcha "barrel bag" with the wet and dry compartment.
I remember in the early 80's when we were isolated from the rest of the world, getting the Surfer mag from CNA and sending letters to the international companies like Maui and Sons and Santa Cruz Skateboards asking for stickers. Must have cost my folks a small fortune in stamps.... Then the replies came and the prize inside the replies! We used to stick them on our plastic technical drawing boxes that we used to carry all our set squares and french curves etc.
Or being at the Gunston 500 and waiting for stickers to be thrown out. I still have sme Zigzags signed with stickers from 30 years ago now
Phew... not great at all but also alot great'r than it could have been. When I read your comment about it coming off I just had to go and hug my bikes and tell them it was going to be okay!
Still a beauty of a bike tho!
Thanks, I'm certainly in love
It could have been a hell of a lot worse, just as well there was no one to close ehind me and I was able to stop as quickly as I did.
Thule VeloCompact 925Oh crap - what Thule was it and how did it fail?
The circled knobs were tightened, and the bolt inside the knob was tightened with a allen key. They became loose somehow so the U-Shaped bar fell over with the bike. It did it twice For some reason that bar was not seating properly.
The bike shop assembled and fitted it for me. I was probably stupid for not checking myself, lesson learnt. The bike shop did rectify the issue.
Another oldie....I miss all the old crew
The controversy... I cant believe this thread is still going...must be RECORD???? Mattt???

Value of Older Bikes
in The Bike Room
Posted
@Madmarc - Thats kind of what I was looking at doing. Looking for around R5-6k, the parts are where the value is, I think, and it seems, the bike would make a decent gravel bike.
