  1. get a GUTR. they do work. www.sweatgutr.com Seen them here in a few LBS.
  2. How was the ride? (i.e. the reason why you went there?)
  3. have none, would like the L one In Cape Town. and maybe some Epic stickers with it :-)
  4. Just got my Rudy Projects ASG auctioned here - photochromatic is amazing, no more trying to stick shades into helmet etc. super light, guaranteed non-breakable, 2 year warranty, nice hard case. adjustable - perfect fit. paid R680 bucks.
  5. From today onward there will be no other website left except for Facebook.
  6. Good luck for your venture. Never mind the non-constructive comments and nay-sayers. You got everyone talking, you are making an effort, and if the format is not right, so what. Am sure most successful people didn't stick to the correct etiquette to get people talking.
  7. Surely there will be records of which driver used your vehicle...?
  8. the one worry I always have when riding my road bike down a fast hill is " what happens if..." - and a no-name / unknown-source wheel would not take that worry away.
  9. insane. but Ritalin will fix them. crazy world....
  10. Not hijacking, just trying to add info re NCA and the commission: lodged a complaint against MTN in January, got below answer last week. Not very promising - but maybe give them a call: "Dear I was informing about your complain, that i'm escalating to conciliation hearing. Conciliation is a process in which an independent, objective person, without prejudice, attempts to asssist disputing parties to reach an agreement for the resolution of a complaint. 11. yeah, they are often "too busy" - I have walked out of it a few times, but also received great service from Howard and his team. I think they were not used to having clients in the shop, since the old Northgate island location was terribly quiet and they literally had three staff help you the mnute you walked into the shop...
  12. I have cycled since I was 8, had about 15 different bikes so far - and to this day I am still to see a cable snap. anything attached to it, bolts, etc yes, but have never had a cable break. I would say your LBS "is very careful to avoid that disappointment of a break down...". Too careful in my eyes.
  13. Maybe a dumb answer, but maybe the K53 booklet might give more answers. Honestly, sometimes I think we simply need to take responsibility ourselves.
  14. who cares. as long as he enjoys his ride he has probably achieved his goal.
  15. they might have been too terrified to greet you... :-)
  16. very happy, once you converted to tubeless. haven't done any other upgrades and enjoying it. moved from Sram X7/9 to this one's XT - what a difference. if you want to try it, and and XL is your size, give me a shout.
  17. Gardenroute 300 in Knysna
  18. +1 It's a bit like me moaning about all these "dumbass drivers" on the N1 blocking the road every morning, while I am standing still in that same traffic jam.
  19. my experience: nothing hurts like stepping on lego, barefoot.
  20. Yeah, tried that once in a race - I made the mistake of trying to bite of half a PVM bar at once, in order to get my hands back on the handlebar, well - 15kms later I was still trying to chew that rubber ball which had formed in my mouth. the positive was that the cramping in my jaw muscle distracted me from the pain in my legs I could therefore ride faster. i. e. the PVM bar actually worked. :-)
  21. I think the idea is that the overrule traffic lights during peak traffic in order to react to the actual traffic volume - and not like a "dumb" light, therefore letting more people through. Have seen them in Cape Town on my route, and I think it does make a difference. Even though it doesn't apply to taxis, as they keep on doing what they want anyways..
  22. He's made it : http://www.praxis-loehlein.de/team.html
  23. that would be me then :-)
  24. I am using this (imported) single wheel trailer with full air suspension - even on single trail. Benjamin digs it and falls asleep within 20 minutes. Best thing I ever bought, to actually get a proper work out and not sacrifice too much time away from the boy. Working on getting mom involved now...
  25. check out this site for the Ferrari amongst offroad trailer: www.pro-biketrailer.net
