I just bought a new acces card. R300 . If you ride twice a week its R3 a ride! Why cheat? Probably the same people who moan about the state of the trails and crash riding down the roads. Although I didn't have to show my old card at the gate for about 8 months! The guys just assumed I had one cos I was there so often...

I will be 35 on saturday. Can't believe I'm so old already! Seems like just the other day I was bunking school to go mountain biking!!

I used to live on a road that was the main walking route between masipumelele, a huge location, and the local mall. Tbe break ins were terrible. Had my whole house ripped off one day. Two years later I saw a guy walking down the road with my bike, so I confronted him and got it back! Two days later there was a brick through my cars back window... Sold the house soon after. I also got my bmx back the same way, different day, but it got stolen again! Now I lock my bikes to the floor in my garage

My first decent mountain bike was a 1992 Diamond Back Apex. R1600 2nd hand in 1993. Got stolen in 2001. Got it back in 2003! I have the frame hanging in the garage but still use the deore dx wheels on my ss mtb. Those hubs are brilliant. I've only stripped and serviced the front one once in 19 years!

What are the advantages and disadvantages of 29ers? I want real world answers, not something written by the marketing department. Having only riidden a 29er for about 30 seconds I have no real experience of them.

I see your point David but I want to ride decent trails now, not maybe in a few years time. So I help to build. When others are raving about the trails and they don't know that you helping to build them its even better

All the entry fee money goes to sanparks head office in pretoria, whether its from tokai or kruger park. Then it is spent where it is needed. So I would assume that the big parks need more cash to run than some little bike trails. We are not high up on sanparks agenda.

Tokai is maintained by volunteers and organized by Deon from amarider. There are build days that are posted on the hub. Come and build, we need all the hands we can get!

I am gonna be building my own gearbox bike one of these days. Cromoly frame . The hardest part so far is finding the frame material. Now if only someone could donate a rohloff hub...
