  1. forgot about that. Andolex-C throat spray works for me
  2. I use a prescription nasal spray called Omnair. Any form of non drowsy antihistamine saline nasal rinses and sprays on and off to keep the passages clean and prevent dry nose and blood noses. Andolex-C Throat spray when needed and if push really comes to shove - iliaden. i hate the stuff. especially because of its rebound effect. but sometime i get desperate enough and break down
  3. exactly what i do. i use a saline rinse all through winter
  4. Every year without fail i get sick with a post nasal drip during winter that really hampers my ability to train. I use a nasal spray that helps somewhat, but if not managed it often jumps to my chest. I am 99% certain its an immune response to the pollution in the air during winter. tracking the pollution in the phone App Breezometer often sees the figure drop to under 10 out of 100 in the middle of the cradle! lowest i've seen is 5 how many other suffer the same issue?
  5. maybe to account for what our market is willing to pay? its still a lot, but i'm sure their market research and historical data will single out the best price point for the RSA market
  6. so apparently your GBP10500 gets you this beautiful bike with Sram Red AXS and then they go do something brain dead and make it not tubeless compatible. The mind boggles https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/bikes/road-bikes/specialized-s-works-tarmac-sl7-review/
  7. i have the 2019 Madone SLR. no issues on my side at all. that said i am a smaller rider and the seatpost is not overly high so the leverage is not massive. i have my ISO set to the softest setting. i ride it and race it(VA) like that. buy one. they are the most comfortable planted bike you will ever ride.
  8. No no. no. i've ridden a set of these for the last 1000km - they came with my new Zipps. i've had 10 punctures so far. they are a lovely tire. but not for RSA roads. i've pulled them off and have swapped over to my used faithful GP4000II again
  9. i found out the hard way when i ordered axles for my trek that threads are not universal
  10. is he though? what is stopping ISN from supporting him? - although if that happened i'd expect Ineos to boot him i'd prefer him to move right now so that there is no in fighting. will ultimately lead to a more exciting race
  11. well this was a fun thread to read through
  12. i'm 1.7m and ride a 2014 scalpel with a lefty that has been increased to 120mm to get around that version of the bike being twitchy.
  13. maybe, but in the tour on a descent those seconds would more than be made up by the better braking and aero benefits. i think it's a great all rounder. best of all worlds
  14. Parafin the chain with a chain cleaner. Parafin the cassette and crank. Clean entire bike off with Diluted Cleangreen. let is dry fully in the sun. lube. i've been doing that for years. my Record chain did not even get to 0.5 wear after 12000km of riding. to be fair i keep my bike spotless all the time. a clean bike is an efficient bike and makes me feel good when i ride it.
  15. And that is why necklacing is a real thing. Because we can't rely on the law, communities are forced to take the law into their own hands.
  16. So sorry to see this. i ride that road twice a week. here's the sad reality. only 6% of Drunk Drivers are convicted in RSA https://mybroadband.co.za/news/motoring/355087-south-africas-proposed-zero-tolerance-drunk-driving-laws-have-a-big-problem.html
  17. I follow mechanics around. If they move I move. A good bike mechanic is hard to find.
  18. Quickly runs to garage to check my GX chain and cassette... All good!
  19. I got some assos bibs with a security tag still attached. Was rectified quickly though
  20. Might be true in the states. they all got USD1300 x2 as a payout. and people used it to buy whatever they wanted
  21. thanks for the share. i use GoldenCheetah to track my training. but this might be a nice extra tool for motivation
  22. I loved the specialized romin saddle for a long time. Still do. Then I demoed a bike and was sold on the bontrager aeolus. Also real comfort there. Both work for me. Comes down to personal preference
  23. does it matter where you are importing from? or are the import fees the same regardless?
  24. Since my call/s I have now recieved my order. Was overnighted. So if you get hold of the right person, be nice, they will help.
