  1. What he said, been running an HD trailstar for a while now, grip is great. Better than the MK any day.
  2. I think you've found your problem....
  3. Yes... But what they don't tell you is that where the shuttle drops you off for the stage starts, there is still a nice uphill trek to get the heart rate up. Also, you are giving it your all the whole way down - no nice long jeep tracks to catch your breath, so you K*k baksteene if you are not fit. Running will def help, and its still a blast even if you're unfit.
  4. Did my first one last lear, was awesome! Don't think I'm doing this years one though, which is a good thing, because I'm not nearly fit enough.
  5. Sweet! you'll be shredding the DH courses, and bunny hopping PnP trolleys in no time!!! ... and don't worry, 510's come in a 9.5
  6. Do you ride with baggies and 510's? If not, that could be your problem...
  7. Biggest factor is budget. If you have money to replace the tyre and not go hungry for the rest of the month, then replace. If replacing means having to send your wife and first born to the nearest intersection for a spot of begging, then do what the others suggest and fix it. If you fix it, it might be wise to keep it on the rear, that way, if it does fail, it will be far easier to stay on your bike.
  8. That's just showing off!
  9. I was thinking the same. Cant be much more than 2.5mm when they're new
  10. ...And look: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/36415-gear-up-for-winter/ Get your buff here
  11. A buff over the mouth and nose works pretty well
  12. You will feel a difference with 7mm. How is your current setup spaced? If all the spacers are above the stem it should be fine as your stem height will not change. If you have spacers below the stem, it will affect your stem height, and you will feel it. Although you might prefer the feel of it lower, so why not play with the spacers on your current setup and see how it feels?
  13. I know!!! Im still trying to figure out how anal will reduce your chances of getting a virus... Worth a shot though (excuse the pun)
  14. I've had issues with my setup too. Zee clutch RD, wolftooth chainring, chain as short as it can go. Seems to be really intermittent, sometimes drops really easily, other time stays on through really rough stuff. My latest theory is that it might be caused by a small amount of chain suck when freewheeling causing slack at the top which allows the chain to bounce off from the top. Havent actually checked this yet, so just a theory for now.
  15. 11-32 would be for MTB, the other 2 sound like road cassettes with their close ratios.
  16. MTB or road?
  17. is there any other site doing live streaming? Im stuck at work and our F*&K*NG web filter blocks redbull.tv :cursing: :cursing:
  18. Have you been to Old Main pub in Hilton? They brew their own beer - the Ale is awesome!!!
  19. I have a buzz rack too. The rubber stains the paint if you leave it on for extended periods of time. Put a cloth or tape over areas that touch, but a tow bar rack will solve these issues as mentioned by others. Lucky i don't drive a fancy car and am not too fussed by a scratch or two I would never put roof mounted racks on my cart - my memory is too cr@p for that...
  20. Yeah, me too! Especially after all the criticism the track has had to endure of late..
  21. I have a wolftooth 34t NW and 11-34 at the rear, with Zee clutch RD - dropped the chain on both my race runs at the Thaba DH this weekend past Chain and ring both have low mileage on them, and chain is as short as I can make it. Needless to say, my confidence in the NW / Clutch RD setup is not so high anymore. Going to try adjust the tension on the DR clutch, maybe that will help..
  22. Hmm, the words, LBS and Pro's rarely have any business being in the same sentence these days... Ask them if they are going to heat treat it, if not then no matter how "pro" they are your frame will be useless, it will just crack again on the weld. I know as I had my previous welded by a welder who welds aeroplanes, so I thought he would know what to do ... weld opened up the same day I took it for its first ride.
  23. If you weld ali, you need to have it heat treated back to its original "t" rating. If you don't you will have a weaker spot where you welded than before. Looks like a hose clamp around the head tube might be a better idea
  24. Awesome work Bogus! Congrats Wayne you've got a great looking frame there
  25. Its pretty safe, ridden it plenty of times alone, and on weekends there are quite a lot of riders around so should be fine.
