What I get from this is I need to sell my house and buy all the bikes I can with the proceeds

in 6 months, sell all my bikes, buy a bigger house and retire

    what could go wrong 🤣

    Wayne

Sl topic change but did you ever manage to sell your magnificent “village  bike “ that the whole hub had a hand in choosing the bits ?

That would be a good example of bikes holding value ?

I do actually agree with you here.

I do also like the spectacle of the actual sport thought. I guess from an athletics perspective, the olympics is the pinnacle of the sport. It is more important than the world championships. I do agree that some sports should not be part of it. Reducing the number of sports would eliminate a lot of unnecessary costs of building single purpose stadiums etc.

One of the biggest waste of money is the opening and closing ceremonies. I wish someone who was hosting had no ceremonies and instead used the money to build houses for the homeless in their country.

Of course, we are farting against the wind because we represent a very small percentage of the population who actually thinks like this

Like you Stretch , I love watching the actual sport competition. Agree wrt sports like Athletics and swimming and cycling  , mostly because we identify with them .

But how do you even begin to argue which other sports needs to be cut ? I don’t take any notice of the equestrian events for example , mostly cos I’m seriously scared of horses .  But the equestrian athletes work as hard as Wayde or Chad and the equestrian supporters see it as vital to their lives as we do the bike racing.

    So cutting sports is hectic

Finishing at 1500ish altitude, the revised route after a cable car ???? incident (these are strange times). All eyes on the Maglia Rosa who showed a bit of fragility. I suspect he needed a gel or two rather.

Other than the 2 main descents , which will be fast and quick, uphill the whole route. Nowhere to hide tired legs today

  4. Bro, while i agree with what you say i disagree too. as the season has gone on we no longer press like we did when he first arrived. His team selection has worsened which has caused the players to lack efficiency, I mean the reason why Sheffield and Wolves did so well last season with "lesser" players is that the coach  knew who his best 11 were and played them. Were is Pepe best LW or RW? where is Willian best ? Why not play Martinelli? Why is Gabriel not starting? how is Holding our preferred CB? Who is a better LB backup Xhaka or Cedric, if Xhaka why buy Cedric when you choose Chambers as RB. If neither why send Kolosniac out? all these rookie mistakes is understandable for a new coach in his career, but that's why is should be plied at a different club, not at a supposable Top 6 club.

Yeah , all valid technical points . Agree regarding the press , seems to be on a different system. Villareal seemed to have lots of space when pushing from midfield last night , and would have been quite a handful had they decided to attack more .

Agree re team stability , but seems to be building around a system of more versatile players who shift position.

I think Holding is a great option where he is now  , and TP been one of our best signings for ages.

But , with the time already invested , seems a waste to abandon that and start with a whole new gig. I reckon the great Arsene took a few years to sort things and start developing his game at the start , and we should give MA a shot at settling down.

A few months ago there was shouting form all over for Ole to get axed at Man U and now suddenly he’s golden .

The one tactic that drives me nuts now tho, is this need to have 4 or 5 cute passes in no space at all in front of goal once the keeper is involved. Just get the thing upfield......

  5. Arteta must surely be shown the door

    Wenger IN

Nope, leave him be. We’ll get better with time , building is a slow process . Seems to have the support form the players. What we do need is some creativity up front .

I’m optimistic for the next few seasons , let’s see how things roll

  6. The first goal I thought was not on. I even said to my mate over the din in the pub that’s not fair play. Lucas impeded his view. Even though as you say he had no chance.

Then the penalty. I agree there was a penalty but for an earlier issue being handball. Then a spurs player hand balled too before the foul. Then the foul itself happened after the shot. It’s a comedy of errors there.

As a spectator I think football was more enjoyable pre VAR and the idea of VAR was to prevent errors but still happens anyway. It’s detracting from the game. Use goal line tech and be done with VAR.

Don’t dispute the result. Spurs were the better side esp after bales goal.

Pint of carling now 5.60 in the Tup pub. Prices risen sharply since last time we went in October. Was 4.90 then.

    Thats R 111.24 in proper money for a beer . Eish .

  7. I’ve never understood the beef with DSTV, esp as far as the sport goes . And that’s pretty much all I watch on it .
To be  able to channel hop between golf, bike racing , soccer, cricket , rugby, boxing , athletics, now ESPN as well , without even having to think about where and how to stream something is worth the subs to me

  8. Spuds threw away a 2 - 0 lead to get knocked out. not that we did any better at home last night.

Ja, but at least we through to the next round . Jose not so much.

Hes not shy to lay into his players after they rubbish. Wonder how well that goes down in the dressing room

  9. When you do get on the idt, don’t be surprised at how hard it’s going to feel . Riding with the sling is uncomfortable anyway , but after both my surgeries, was toast on the trainer in no time with rubbishy low numbers . Remember thinking how on earth do some crash , break , plate and then race within days .

Hang in there, takes a while

Re your original question , check with surgeon before you do, there’s lots of critical wound healing going on . Don’t want to disturb that .

  10. To Shebeen , and all my other Province and Stormers supporting mates , sad to see the end of an era at Newlands Rugby Stadium yesterday . Holds some remarkable rugby memories. Most iconic for me at Newlands was Pieter Hendricks rounding Campo with his fist raised to score in the 95 World Cup opener , but as Province fans , I’m sure you guys have many more personal memories of the place.
However , your new stadium has, judging by the sevens and the soccer, got to be one of ,if not the finest stadium in world rugby , so look forward to that in future . Imagine that place packed full and singing vs the All Blacks or Lions .
All the best to Province Rugby going forward

  11. Whoa . That was hectic . Car literally in half . He must have climbed straight forward out of that thing . Replay from his car cam stopped just before impact , but that would show exactly how he got out .

On replay he was still in the front part , that’s incredible . Climbing out of the fire like that .

  12. For a $5000 team entry cost, I’m sure they can pretty much say anything.

I looked passed the waffling, and enjoyed some of the scenery, bike riding and the varying weather conditions they were forced to endure. Hectic stuff.

Yeah I enjoyed the same. Scenery and the actually racing side. However would far prefer to watch say a Supersport or such like production of a race like that , than a drama style one presented by Bear Grylls .  Too much reality show , too little real .

But looks like a hectic event .

  13. Second 22. ⚠️

The fighting for positioning during the crosswind carnage. Fortunately no crashes as far as I know.

And the relief and gratitude expressed by Nairoman and his Arkea Samsic teammates after that definitive stage. They are working hard to establish themselves and be worthy of inclusion at TdF. Their excellent performance at Paris-Nice would’ve been a real boost.

Nice Vid . WvA seems like a really lekka oke.

  14. hubs are orange, look red in picture but very orange

Agreed on fork, my plan is either blacked out or copper

Cassette was bought 20 months ago and AXS didn't exist so I only got the upgrade kit - black would be better but I swear the gold chain and gold cassette have a longer shelf life

Just peel the decals off the fork and replace with nada . Stealth black fork will be so kif . Plus also a bit mysterious until you look closer
