  1. OP, as correctly suggested use the 3 or 5 second power. You mentioned that you’re new to PM’s - that is how they read, the strain guages will tell you exactly what wattage you are producing, The smoothing is required otherwise you will be all over the place with your effort as you are at present. Jump to the bit about averaging https://www.cyclistshub.com/how-do-cycling-power-meters-work/
  2. Corporate (wooltru) Med aid, but linked to momentum in some way, so the health returns go to my medical aid savings every month.
  3. So i just stay as is? Locked into Pvt club - which I assume is a good thing. was called by them but when I told the guy I was already a premier member he said there is nothing further to be done. I am getting health returns as a top up for my medical aid savings as I am on different med aid - need to keep getting that
  4. what about people without medical aid? Why is this so confusing? I ended the year on private club and Green health score - option do I take for the new year?
  5. Sounds like you need to change your settings
  6. They are the worst to deal with, underhanded and look to cut every corner possible, from the change of the Safety Days calculations to the crap app, everything requires a follow up and escalation.
  7. Heard a cyclist was attacked by a mob armed with pangas and knobkieries near the township on your way to Hout Bay. Bike and phone taken. Fortunately not that badly injured . No other info , was shared on WhatsApp group.
  8. This time of year, people are always in a rush and generally drive k@k. Saw it this morning. Had an old gentleman rev his car behind us as we left Simonstown, the bushes are a bit overgrown and perhaps we strayed a bit to the right, he was so angry🤷, then later past Kalk Bay a bakkie was getting so impatient as the car ahead took a while to pass a few cyclists due to the narrow road. Shoo, silly season is here!
  9. Sounds like a DIY would be possible, this is an undergarment as well, just make sure measurements are spot on
  10. Read somewhere that the city already has some integrated surveillance camera network in place
  11. Had a great day out, apart from the box that stopped dead right in front of causing me to crash and ruin my shoe and scrape my shifter 😡, fortunately I could continue with a few grazes and bruises. Our plan was for a 12 man finish which we achieved within our target time as well, also reckon we could have shaved off about 20 minutes
  12. Ah, we spent quite a bit of time rolling with you guys. I see one of our members in the corner of your pic!
  13. Bontrager have a small light which I have on the front - ion paired with Varia on the back.
  14. Spot on! I have gone to further lengths via LinkedIn! it’s a joke really , too many people just roll over and accept subpar products or service.
  15. Need to set the bar higher There were no full road closures ( aware this wasn’t the plan BUT we almost got taken out by a bakkie that recklessly pulled into the road in front of us Cars also flying past us on some stretches, hardly a Marshall in sight A road event with a dirt road as access to parking? And the condition of the road ? Great staff at the water points but often the drinks were standing in the sun But we say yes please and thank you and pay the entry fee , need to take a page out of some MTB events and see how events should be run.
  16. Yes, the parking was a stuff up, as was the road to parking as well, if you can call that a road. Was also late and was just told to go through when we got to the start.
  17. Attention to detail also lacking the paper instructions speak of 2 x cable ties for the 2 holes on the bracket, however they only have 1 cable tie and there’s also 1 hole on the board. Yes, it’s a small thing but speaks volumes - amateur hour
  18. very likely they will try to repair. When I got my bike back with a similar scenario, the frame was repaired. The shifters were badly damaged and they tried to pass it off as general wear and tear which I rejected out of hand - end of story - new groupset, saddle, seatpost and repaired frame.
  19. Hi guys Silly question, I have installed 28mm tyres and was wondering if anyone has had any issues running narrower I.E. 23/25mm tubes in their 28mm tyres? Still have a few left so would ideally like to use them up if i can do so safely. Have One Tonner this weekend and not keen on taking unnecessary risks.
  20. I reckon a conversion is not a no-no - perhaps biased though as I have one and I am happy with it.
  21. how long is a piece of string? Very subjective and you will get a million opinions from people that have had varying experiences at the same shop. You also don't state location? SA is big? best shop for sales / pricing? Best for suspension service or general service Best clothing range etc, the list can go on...
