    back on this.

(can;t believe I've become a slave to this system!!)

If the whole shebang misses a workout (uploads suunto=>strava, both connected to disco), is there a manual way for them to resync and look for activities?

did the whatsapp ting and while we got it done, the human on the otherside didn't really know how it worked. was not worth the effort for a coffee. googling gets you so many different links to their site, many of them legacy stuff, a direct link would be great

Ai am expecting a back lash on that. That is anti competitive in my view.

Yep. Also quite galling to think that they claim Andretti, a motorsports powerhouse, won’t bring enough into the game.

    erm….

Did you get them? That rebate plane in the middle is wonderful, got a couple of them myself.

  4. @OP you can mullet it without an issue. It's just a wheel.

Only thing you'd need to retain is the same cassette (for chain length and gearing compatibility) Hub width, axle size and disc size.

You'll be dropping the BB by about 20mm or so, but that's not a train smash unless you're already grazing rocks with your cranks & chainring. It'll also reduce the inertia on the rear, as long as you're not going heavier with the back wheel. That will make the rear more "lively" by virtue of it being easier to change direction, but not by much. Another by-product of that is that you'll be able to lift the front more easily as it'll have slackened out the HA by dropping the rear axle relative to the front axle.

FWIW I'd concentrate on the skills before you decide to pay them bills. Maybe even a better bar (slight riser) or a shorter stem. Flat bars belong in the gym.

Is "mullet" in this context referring to wheel size? mix of 29" and 27.5" fitted on one bike.

Gary Fisher's / Trek 69er concept died more that 10 years ago.

(or is the smaller wheel at the front 🙃)

Appears "mullet" on the other hand, refers to gear ratio in the gravel world.

Always wonder how cycling media decides on these weird names ...

MTB with smaller wheel at the back. Groadies are a strange bunch, none of their terms are Canon.

Mullet = business at the front, party at the back. Smaller wheel = more fun (lower inertia & angular momentum) & bigger wheel = better rollover.

The Trek / GF 69er was from the days when designers needed to overcome their lack of understanding wrt niner geometry and smaller people, but the practice is still pretty common in Enduro / DH circles.

We'd found you out behind the local floozy's geraniums, so I guess that's a yes.

Was out to a site in Stellenbosch this morning, and as I getting ready to leave the heavens opened up, and lighting put on a really good show.

At one point I had to pull over as the lightening was literally going over my head on that long stretch from Stellies to the N1.

Some road sections closer to home resembled a freaking river!

Moral of the story, I need to find some decent wet weather gear.

LOL, I got caught in that on my way back from a meeting in Paarden Eiland. Was clear in S Subs, as I was going down the M5 towards Koeberg Interchange I started seeing the lightning...

Was in the thick of it on the way home...

  8. Bahahahaha! That's funny, Patches.

Yeah, if I would if I had endless cash. But when all I need from the mak stable is their cordless router (no other kind apart from Ryobi or Bosch Green available at the moment) and I can get a circular saw, multitool, jigsaw, random orbital, a 2.5Ah & 4Ah battery, 2 chargers and a sabre saw for less than ZAR 7,500.... I'm going Einhell. Especially when it's being backed by BPM Toolcraft, one of our best local distros here in CT.

Ja, All Mak would be nice, but unnecessary. If a tool messes up, I take it back. And I can replace every tool 2 to 3 times before I get to the cost of the equivalent Makitas.

  9. So. I'm selling some goodies, all in excellent nick. Basically getting rid of my powered tools to replace with battery operated so I'm not reliant on Eishkom.

Stuff I have that needs to go

    Metabo kgs216m sliding compound mitre saw - R 3,000

    Makita 5903R 235mm circular w/ 4 just-sharpened blades and brand new brushes (installed this past weekend) - R 3,000

    Bosch pks55 circular - R 1,000

    Startel Pro 1900w plunge router w/ guide R 1,500

Dremel 3000 w/ router attachment and Tork Craft spares kit in Dremel toolbox - R 1,250

Elu electrical planer from the 80s (still in perfect order and w spare blades) - R 750

HMT  (Huster Machine Tool company) belt driven table saw with cast iron worksurface and router under-mount (had the startel router in place) - R 12,000

    Triton Mk3 workcentre - R 2,500

I also have a biscuit boy, details on that to follow once I've given it a once-over and checked it all out.

All offers entertained, but don't take the piss. 😆
