  1. Tiagra is great, pretty much the Deore of the road world. It'll work, carry on working and not give you a moment's hassle - BUT - 105 DOES feel better. Personal experience. It's crisper, more refined and far better than Tiagra.
  2. It's a 5 year old bike. Even with Super Record, it's still a 5 year old bike.
  3. saline drips are almost solely for dehydration recovery though, surely?
  4. Yeah. Street racing is on a totally different level. Different tar mixes, road imperfections, houses, armco, hay bales and stupendously gifted riders at breakneck speed. Those guys are like the wing suit divers of the motorsport world
  5. Thanks dude... will have to think about it. If someone else gives the dosh before me, I'll just have to live with it.
  6. Northern Suburbs - Jaco @ the Bike Shed. Somerset West - William's Bike Shop (without a doubt) Town - Action Cycles in Bree Street. Marco & Devon know their ****! Southern Subs - Epic Bike Shop - Lance and his crew are fantastic, and he knows how to build a wheel properly Southern Southern Subs - Trail and Tar. Those would be my go to places, depending on where you are and where you're going to be. No other places will do down here in the Cape.
  7. Technically, you DO pay VAT with a UK address (if it's being shipped to the UK, that is...) but it's a lot less than duties and VAT here.
  8. Haha! We're both wrong, but I'm more wrong than you. Helmets, ff or otherwise - 25% All depends on how it's described in the end... If it's described properly, you need to add 44.25% to the gbp price to get a vat inclusive and duty inclusive cost. Without shipping of course remember VAT is charged as (cost plus duty plus 10%) x 14%
  9. Almost 100% sure it's 40, but I could be wrong. Hope I am, actually. Would be far better...
  10. To those who order one - just remember to add 40% plus vat to the price before you pull the trigger. Otherwise you'll get a nasty shock at the post office / dhl when you collect
  11. I agree with Hayden Wilson there. Keep the bike and change it up to be a more aggressive bike.
  12. Oh and I'd paint the whole thing in proper road paint and stone chip underneath. Get a rear numberplate setup from Midas and bobs your uncle.
  13. Personally, given the price of new trailers currently as well as the price of the prorides, I'd draw up a plan for a trailer (simple box frame with a nose cone) and take it to a fabricator to weld up, using a scrapped trailer's axle or a simple transaxle. Axle 50% of the way along the trailers bed so it's easy to manoeuvre, and put some drawers in so you can have a stowage area under the bike bed. Clad the thing in some mild or galvanised steel, except for the top which would be clad in sealed meranti. It'll be cheaper than a 2nd hand trailer and probably more sturdy.
  14. Just shows that the majority of people you saw that day have the same lack of attention as you, or just don't watch the road ahead. It's not exactly a small cutout, and even though the cone probably isn't in the right place, it's very presence there should have made you take more notice of what was on the road at that point.
  15. Same WILL apply for a new lid. And to the OP - it's completely your fault for not keeping an eye on the road. And not knowing how to bunny hop. Can't blame someone else for your inability to scan the road ahead for things like this.
  16.  BAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Guess where I am. Yep - gutter city!
  17. Only be concerned if there's a bubble in the tyre. If it's just an alignment issue, it may just be that it became unseated. Have you recently had to change a tube? May be that the bead hasn't seated properly, causing one segment of the tire to be lower than the rest, and whammo - there's your bob. As for the binding - Disc brakes, right? It's either rubbing on the rotors (if you hear a brushing sound, it's that) or, depending on the hubs you have, the cones may be too tight (if they're Shimano) which isn't allowing them to spin as freely as they could be. I doubt there's too much grease in teh hubs, as Wyatt knows what he's doing...
