  1. Even it was a very slow time I think I'm pretty happy with training and all that. Riding in the small group was definitely tougher than sitting in the big bunch. Will see you all at the 99'er again.
  2. http://www.cycletour.co.za/index.php/travel/bike-transport/ http://www.cycletour.co.za/index.php/travel/bikes-on-a-plane/ Complete info.
  3. As well. Had horrible ITB and went to a physio. She told me everything is fine according to her checks and that I must go to a chiro. 1 Visit and I never had any problems again. But I also think you get chiros and then you get chiros. The guy I went to doesnt ruk and pluk at all. http://www.capechiro.net/
  4. luckily I only picked up the weight in my calves so I should be OK But if anyone rides at the back of D, come say hi.
  5. 1. Problem is not how much I drink, but the amount I sweat and the distance of the race. 2. And lose my bunch like that? Have never stopped at a water point. I'd rather die I have my pride. 3. Whats the fun in that? 4. Will stop at PnP and get a mini salt thingy. @dale....ja, I have a extra 8 kg's as well.
  6. Ek was by die huis, besig om vet en lui te raak :-) Also not looking forward. Pretty sure the following will happen (in the order) 1. Get dropped on the bump or before! 2. Run out of water. 3. Cramp
  7. Entered as well. I am going to suffer through this, but only way to get back in the game. Is it my imagination or is this an very expensive race for a 'normal' ppa race?
  8. brilliant!!! thnx
  9. @schwinn - you cant. Must upload directly from watch to website via weblink tool. @splat - nope, no functionality from garmins' side. Do a search someone on thehub is trying to design a tool to do that. Interestingly you can also get points with Adidas MiCoach. Remberber, from friday you can get 45% discount on all Adidas items if you do the correct tests and stuff. Let me know if anyone wants more info!
  10. I love the program. Cant think of a nicer, more user friendly program that still gives you the in-depth analysis should you want it. I prefer the program to online. More user friendly, more reports and available offline. You need a polar to upload your excersize and the program is packaged with the program. Sportstrack is also great I've heard for any other training watch.
  11. Typo? 1000 km a day? With an average speed of 30 km/h you will need 33 hours per day to do that. Not even a bar one's 25hour day will help you there.
  12. Wonder how a motorist will react when a cyclist rips off his mirror. Will he stop smsing? Or will he also act irrationally next time when he sees a cyclist and maybe try to clip his back wheel or force him off the road?
  13. What about keeping the rules the same but allow people that is afraid of the swim to swim with arm floaties. :-) Seriously guys, if you want to do a triathlon, get into the water before the race a couple of times. This is by the far the easiest part of the race. You wouldnt expect to do the cycling or running without training, why then the swimming? If you struggledo a bit of back stroke or breast stroke. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S-BmaFATW1E/TBoRJxH36EI/AAAAAAAAD9I/5QsjVkq-Cx8/s320/P2283.jpg
  14. please dont feed the troll.
  15. I dont think the problem was the organisors but the people manning the stand and the cyclists. People were filling their water bottles. I dont think that is the idea of the stop does make it difficult to plan. That said, it is horrible looking forward to that water after feeling like you might die of thirst and then arrive at an dry station.
  16. Sound like ITB. Too much or to fast to soon? Or are you a regular runner? Worse downhill? I prever Asic Ds trainers. They have much less cushioning, your support muscles gets stronger rather than relying on cushioning to do the work and get weaker. google jordans factory outlet. They 'make' asics and you will be able to find stock for about R 600-00 for the most expensive ones.
  17. thnx for updates, whats happening?
  18. FanieFiets

    WOW

    unreal
  19. I would think dodging other cyclists riding in the right direction might be a problem as well.
  21. but seriously.....why do you want to see the heartrate in the water? Just for viewing it afterwards because not really practical to have a look while swimming.
  22. moan moan moan. Makes the mountain safer for mtb and hikers. Buy a mtb and go ride there. feel safer. or dont join PPA. But not PPA discussion. I just think it is nice way to spend money seeing as they are involved in charities.
  23. The Pedal Power Association (PPA) on Saturday handed a new trained dog to join Table Mountain National Park’s visitor safety dog unit through the “Gift-a-Patrol-Dog Campaign”. “Purdy”, a two-year old German Shepherd, joined three other patrol dogs at the SANParks offices at Kloof Nek. In addition to funding the dog, the PPA is also funding Purdy’s food for a year, bringing this funding initiative to a total of R22 000. http://www.pedalpower.org.za/blog/news/ppa-donates-trained-table-mountain-patrol-dog/ for full article. Pretty cool.
