  1. Whoa there boet! Let's not throw those words about so carelesly! There are more of us like that! I might take exception!
  2. Please every one! Just don't call them the dreaded K-word because that would just be inhumane! They can kill, rape and torture and maim, but please don't call them the K-word...
  3. That is a very good reason!
  4. I'm looking to buy the missus a nice prezzie for christmas and I heard through the grapevine that she wants one of these. On i-Warehouse the Bryton goes for R4600 and the Garmin for R4330. Both these include the chest strap for the heart monitor. I am leaning towards the Garmin because I know it better and it's cheaper. Any reason why I should buy the Bryton?
  5. Interesting! How many of them have you destroyed and how many have you heard of that have been destroyed? How were they destroyed? Where is the weaknes? Sidewall? Treadlife? Grip? Does it delaminate without reason? Please advise as I would like to make an informed decision, not hearsay or rumours. Thanks.
  6. And because you're not hopping in your saddle like a crazed rabbit on epoh... I wonder sometimes if those instructors really know what they are doing...

  9. To get rid of the "tjoepie" around my waist and to see my sixpack again...
  10. Yeah, those 50 lumen lights were the business back then! I used a 200 lumen light last year on stage 3 and thought it to be enough. The missus gave me a Magiclight 880 with 2000 lumens and my goodness, what a difference! 45 spots left for the solo...
  11. Hey Dirt-Rider - The first 160km is now unsupported for the solo's. I always try to get off the mountain before sunset, but if you've got a good set of lights, you should be fine.
  12. Entries for the SOLO are open and going fast!
  13. It seems they were right with their "conclusions"... Any other comments?
  14. I tried to get some reaction from him on the "I hate it when..." thread, but he's not biting. I think he has his hands full defending his choice of celphone and its OS...
  15. If you want to see a free-for-all, come and check out the students in Potch! Luckily I drive a 2½ ton monster with steel bumpers, otherwise I would not be here today...
  16. Unforunately, yes, I am.
  17. According to some of the commentators on that site, it's the farmers' fault for having to transport people on the back of a truck. One even suggests apartheid as a scapegoat.
  18. Keep us updated please!
  19. Depends on what you classify as decent... We usualy ride in the army base, but it's not very technical. It's mostly farm gravel roads in the area.
  20. Good thing she kept her legs closed!
  21. Must be why I didn't see any! joe-cogs - don't be put off by the whole support car thing - just go and have fun! As I said, I've got the route on Google Earth if you're interested.
  22. What cows? I didn't see any...?
  23. Rad006 - nothing should break! It's all nice wide provincial gravel roads and hard pack surfaces. I think the most technical sections on the route is where we go from tar to gravel! If your bike is well looked after and serviced before the time, it should not give any problems.
