  1. What @MORNE said. Its also worthwhile quickly checking (it literally only takes a minute) that the b limit is set correctly. Shift into biggest cog and check that the largest tooth lines up with the line on the back of the derailleur. https://www.google.com/search?q=b+limit+m9100
  2. Looks like they copied the new epic
  3. Enjoy the new bike (I've seen this movie before)
  4. It’s either 1 photo and old card or 2 photos and copy of id
  5. ☝️ what Brett said. Check out the classifieds for some m520's, these look good... https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/pedals/653275/shimano-pd-m520-mtb-pedals
  6. In the last few years I haven’t had the “you have to have your bike with you” rule enforced when entering Cape Point or Silvermine. If you’re concerned about it, just take your helmet with you because you’re meeting your friend who’s bringing your bike on his rack.
  7. I'm always surprised when I see people rating Tygerberg over Tokai. Quality is better than quantity.
  8. I’m working on a mount CNC machined out of aluminium. Hoping to have a prototype going this week. Pop me a dm if you’re interested.
  9. If it was me, at that budget I’d be looking at aluminium, there are some solid options at that price point. As mentioned above the top fuel is an excellent bike, I rode one in Tokai for a year and it’s super capable, definitely look at changing out the fork though (I’d do the same with the cypher you mentioned). Other options I’d be looking at: Marin rift zone 2 https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/646729/2023-marin-rift-zone-2-brand-new Merida 120 https://bike-addict.co.za/products/merida-one-twenty-600-2023 Good luck with your purchase and enjoy your new bike ✌️
  10. You need to work on your google skills 😂 https://www.google.com/search?q=prologo+saddle+distance+between+mount+holes
  11. The bike industry and standards
  12. Prologo 54mm M4 thread Specialized 60mm M5 thread Disclaimer the Prologo info is from the internet. The Specialized info I'm sure about, I'm making a mount and did the measuring myself.
  13. 🔥🔥I love that bike! Maybe a very far in the future project
  14. Thanks! This is a nice simple design and probably easier to machine. I prefer not to have thing’s attached to my bike with o rings or elastic bands though. If you actually want one I think I have one in the box that my garmin came in that you can have.
  15. Hi guys. Had some fun making this part and thought it turned out pretty well. Some pics of the process… 3d printing is a great way to get a feel for the design direction. Started with the design on the left. From a geometric and cosmetic perspective it seemed pretty good, but the lack of angle made the Garmin tilt towards me too much on the bike. Moved to the design on the right after a couple of iterations. Side one off the CNC machine. We had to do 3 operations per part, top (in the pic above), underside and then the holes that attach the 2 halves. So each mount has 6 machining operations in total. Some machining detail. That wavy pattern is from an adaptive clearing tool path using a 6mm carbide cutting tool. I really like the effect. Crash tested! Had a big otb which left me with a broken wrist. Mount survived like a champ. If design is something you’re interested in check out Fusion 360 you can download a free trial or an enthusiast license, so many YouTube videos to get you going. The Ender 3 3d printer is a great solid option and can be had for around R4k to R5. I use Cura for the 3d printing file. CNC machining isn’t as accessible as 3d printing. If you are designing with the intention of having the part machined, try think of how a cutting tool can get to every place of the part and whether you can machine 5 sides in 1 operation. Made a few extra, pop me a dm if you’re interested. I’ll also list on classifieds. Available with either Garmin or Wahoo mount. R700 I’m keen to make a few other things, got some stuff in the pipeline…
  16. From Trek's website, lifetime on carbon wheels for first owner
  17. Monster hands or just a preference for thicker grips?
  18. I'm running a Mezzer Pro, it's Manitou's trail/enduro fork. Very impressed with it. Super supportive and highly tunable with their irt system. https://hayesbicycle.com/products/mezzer-1
  19. Just checked the email string May 2021, I didn't squeak the wheel on this one and I had a new unit on its way to me after 5 days of Garmin receiving my unit. I'm not sure I should be posting the actual amount I paid for the replacement but I was very surprised when I saw the amount now. Incidentally that was my last mtb crash that took me to the emergency room, up until yesterday that is (feeling sorry for myself right now 😆)
  20. Warranty wise from what I understand you get a pretty much no questions asked replacement if your faulty unit is within warranty. I have sent in out of warranty units that I have physically broken and been offered around 50% off the current model price, Been happy with this so far. I use my own courier as I'm based in CT and then do a couple of follow ups to get a decent turn around time. The squeaky wheel approach. From my experience I am positive about the brand and product. Currently rocking a 935 from 2017 that has been in daily use, no issues (touch wood)
  21. Are you guys saying that if you were for example in the UK, Garmin UK would do a battery or button replacement on an older model?
  22. 👍
  23. When you say changed rotors, have you tried different types/brands?
