  1. There sizes are a little bit smaller than normal
  2. I was also a sceptic of the 2x10 but won't ever go back to the old 3x setup, the ratio's just work
  3. I will go with clinchers unless you are contending for podium places in categories
  4. Non taken I just believe in paying what something is really worth. I am no bargain hunter but this bike is only 4 months old and probably has under 1000km on it. This bike is worth just over R60k so to go and offer the guy half would not be right. R30k will be what a bike shop will give him they will add a margin of 30% to that so they will probably put it on the floor for R40-42k and sell it in the end for R39k
  5. I would say R38k would be a decent offer, don't be stupid and make the guy a rediculous offer pay what the bike is worth. If it is really just 4 months old then it is worth the money. It also depends on how desperate the guy is. Frame will last you easily three to five years but the components will be a different story. Have you got the budget to maintain a XX or XTR bike?
  6. Why not let them rebuild the wheel for? Also let them check that the rim is not oval
  7. Have a look at the Scott Expert 29er, for your requirements you should be able to kit the bike out as you want and trade parts in RRP is R20900 you will get discount so you have about R6k to play with addtional on trade ins
  8. With small block 8's you are going to have some fun, I would change them for something like Kenda Karma's if you want to stay with Kenda or Maxxis crossmarks or conti mountain kings, it will handle the wet stuff and mud a lot better
  9. I have also heard of a couple of people of late struggling with claims at various places, I work through a broker, been with them for years and have never had any issues when claiming. They are underwritten by Santam/Sanlam and although I pay about 5% more than what I can get at insurers directly they give excellent service
  10. I don't like carbon repairs but hey that is just me
  11. Nice to have sponsorship from the large companies! Well done VW
  12. Funny how the one hubber always needs to be smarter than the other As many have said so far it won't do any harm, I clingwrap the most important areas on my bike if I transport it in the rain, just for peace of mind sake nothing else
  13. Head tube does not look tapered if I look at the pics but I might be wrong
  14. They put it into the shoe oven and you fit and it forms to your foot. It is not needed to this this its just a quicker way of doing it. Many shops don't have the oven as you need to purchase a lot of shoes before they give you one or you need to buy it from them......eish the importers of Shimano are shrewd
  15. Really just as recalls on motorvehicles and the problems are all sorted, its if they do nothing about the issue where one should worry
  16. All of us have jumped a red light don't be hypocrites, rather take the guy on for kicking your car or trying to kick it
  17. Nowhere is safe to ride in the bush these days unfortunately
  18. Impressive team, Andy has to either better his TT skills and limit losses or has to become even stronger on the mountains
  19. Awesome so one normal bottle and one accelerate will be an excellent combo
  20. Vredenstein Forteza or any Vredenstein road tyre for that matter, excellent mileage and no punctures unless they really past worn
  21. Sharkie 2

    Chris King

Maybe a stupid question but isn't that a freewheel body?
  22. I have full XO on my new bike with XT pedals, love it
  23. You are allowed to change everything between stages except the frame, so you can't ride one day on a 29er and the next on 26
  24. Fizik's local importers are selling off the pld stock so you will get specials everywhere, the new models are out already
  25. When the rim strip is on the rim lift the rimstrip again, place your index finger underneath it and slowly and gently pull your finger through a full loop underneath the strip, don't pull to hard, your goal is to slightly stretch the strip
