Ive done this race for the last 4 years running (60km). Its a good solid tough ride. Great climbd , bits of technical down and a very very hard technical uphill, some rolling hills, and fast flats. If weather permits its a must do and way better than Die Burger (i am done with the mass events.) So it looks like i will be there again.

Thats a disgrace and gets my blood boiling, i always get heated in these big rides when i see people littering. In the Recm 200 we were told anyone throws anything incl a banana skin on the ground you will be disqualified. I never saw one piece of rubbish for 3 days.

Also perhaps a 27.5 inch 120mm is best of both worlds .....not to sure on variety and options on these puppies

I loved the weekend, awesome riding great vibe and agreed that its good value for money, the Capestorm goveaways alone was worth approx R1300-R1500. Yesterdays mud ride was the best fun i have had in ages, even though my bike hates me, it also didnt want to change gears .

I say descending riders have right of way for many reasons and this topic has been flogged to death but here is my 2 cents. MTB is most enjoyable tearing downhill on ST and it sucks to have your rythmn broken for dudes coming uphill. I am very happy to yield for guys going down when i go up as i know when it comes my turn to descend i can rip it up. Secondly when u going downhill you generally cannot hear or see or sometimes even stop in time for someone coming up as you are generally totally focused on the track, thus the guys going up whom are moving slower have time and have the control and space to move out the way.

They are allowed to ride on the rd but when they ride 2 or 3 abreast they asking for kuk.....so when some pissed off dude mows them down they mustnt bitch like babies.

Ive got the Trek HIFI Pro which is the same as the suprfly, and i came from a trail bike 26er. The trek is very fast but it isnt a fun bike, basically i would prefer a trail bike v xc bike but thats me. SO if u keen on a Spez go Stumpy instead of epic.

Ive had an anthem and a trance and have ridden them to hell and back crashed them , smashed them and never had a days issue. I think the issue is if the seatpost is to high it causes the frame to crack due to the extra leverage and pressure focused on that area. so perhaps some people have got a frame size to small and are compensating by raising the seat post to high. I always thought giant was bulletproof and i would recommend them to anyone.
