  4. The minute the word stage appears before the word race it somehow bumps the price up from an average of R120-R250 a day (1 day race) to a R900-R3000 a day.(stage race)

  8. thanks for the advice will really help/ Last questions for the week. Peanut Butter good or bad? How do i make a fat shake?
  9. Thanks for the response htone With regards to protein. I weigh 77kg and i am 174 cm tall. I want to drop to my old weight of 72kg or even 70kg when i was in my twenties. Im 42 now. You say "Your protein intake should be in the region of 1g - 2g of protein per kg that you weigh. So get that part sorted first as it is the easiest to do. If you take in too much protein in one go, your body treats it almost the same as carbs (I am over-simplifying) and it will also raise your blood glucose levels" Im not into weighing and measuring food so if i eat a 300g steak what is that in protein? or half a chicken? So i must avoid to much meat/chicken and eat more fat? Are eggs fat or protein? or both? Is honey ok? I have completely cut out bread, pasta, potatoes, rice. I havent had any sugar at all. I will carry on reading.
  10. Ride em both and you should know, also google the reviews. But i dont think u can wrong with any of them
  11. HI Guys I have just started this LCHF diet and have been on it for 4 days now. Im trying to drop about 5-6kg A few questions What veggies are high in carbs that i need to avoid? Is the fat in meat ok to eat and the skin on chicken? Must i completely cut out sugar in my tea? (i normally have a 2 - 3 cups a day with one teaspoon) At night i have been craving sweet ( i used to eat half a slab of chocoloate evrynight whats a good alternative? What,s the deal with fruit can i have an apple a day or are they bad? When i cycle can i eat bananas ? I seem to be eating a lot of protein (mainly chicken and meat) must i focus more on fats? Thanks for the info guys? Any help would be great.
  12. Agreed u cant compare miles of boring gravel rd to the singletrack in Wellington, if i dont do the potberg stage race i will be in Wellington for this ride, its still the best area in SA to ride MTB
  13. Agreed its got as much info as the overpriced glossy mags less all the ad fluff. I hope it survives.
  14. Problem with all wheel sizes is that you still need the legs to pedal the damn things
  15. I would say a ratio of 2 to 1. Ie a Road distance of 100km equals to 50km mtb. I did the argus in 3 30 and i normally ride mtb at 14km per hr on average. But thats on proper mountain trails with lots of climbing. If they just ride gravel rds MTb could average 20 -22km per hr so ratio should change to 100km rd = 75km mtb So depending on the course it looks like your MTB dudes are going to get a hiding.
  16. My kids Titan 20 inch is to small he is nine. Im in a dilemma of going to 24 inch or just get a 26 inch xs and let him grow with that. I am leaning twds 26inch as i sick of buying bikes every 2 years
