  1. Yip that article basically says that the stumpy 29 er eve is the best bike out there but if you really insist on smaller wheels you can have this. Bottom line just get the stumpy 29 it's better for sa conditions and these so called experts rate it as the bees knees
  2. How much weight does a dropper add vs a normal seatpost??
  3. Ill say it one more time as i was in same boat as you. The camber climbs brilliantly and it rails the downhills. Chuck on a dropper and there is nothing you cant tackle trust me its a beast. Climbs like an epic descends like a stumpy. Best all complete bike out there. ( I looked at Tallboy,Pyga/Stumpy etc Camber in carbon form is the one.)
  4. I wish i had AA temperament , i would of walked in that shop and bliksemed that Galleniti dude. I Need to work on the anger management part of my persona.
  5. This might help. I do set building and we built a set at Lourensford a few weeks ago. One of my drivers crashed thru the boom at the entrance and we got into a he said they said she said incident of whos fault it was. Bottom line is they have security cameras at the entrance by the boom. JUst ask the Lorensford for the footage of approx the time and you should see the perp.....Good Luck
  6. I would live to see Erik kleinhans and Buys team up next year they could win it as Erik has spent last few daysbfixing Suzies bike or even suzie and Erik both Spez riders going for it to place another Saffa on podium
  7. What he did was stupid and unecessary but the squealing from Scott is equally pathetic. They should of just said dude do that again and we report you but to cry about a 10 second gain is a joke. To win the African jersey this way is not cricket. They will feel embarrassed when they step on the podium
  8. I saw that it pissed me off immensly. That should be an instant 10 000 rand fine to anyone who litters on these trails.
  9. Short and sweet answer. I bought a Ht frame and it is is awesome after a year of abuse its still rocking., no issues with customs and tax. Contact Vivian at Hong Fu. or spend the next ten years reading the above mentioned thread.
  10. "he only downer on the Stumpy would be the Fox fork up front, which I hat with all I have in me. I sold my Fox after two recalls and am now sporting a 140mm X-Fusion Trace. My bike feels like a different machine now!" Is the Fox really that crap??
  11. That's what I'm worried about I can only chill for so long before I get antsy but I am bringing the kids along so it's not all about me
  12. Wow .....ok then wallow with a cocktail it will be
  13. Camber has the same travel as a Pyga 110mm their is an evo version that runs 120mm.
  14. Im heading to Ile Maurice in June and was wondering if there are nice MTB trails to do on the island. Is it worth taking my bike along or should i just go and wallow like a hippo for 10 days?
  15. I was looking at the Spez Stumpy and the Pyga. 110 . I rode both of them and when i left the shop i became the proud owner of a Spez Camber CArbon Comp. It just felt perfect. I got it for R38k. It climbs brilliantly and i added a dropper post and now i descend like evil kneivel on roids. Its a brilliant do it all bike.
  16. You same height as me iride 29er hard tail and DS but from your riding (jonkerhoek etc) i reckon a Trance 27.5 would be nice for you and suit you otherwise hop on a SPez Camber 29er and see what that feels like.
  17. When is it?
  18. Try get a 26 er hardtail with slx specs if u lucky
  19. I cant keep up with all these claims anymore, wake up today protein bad, tmrw carbs good, monday fat the way to go, tuesday carbs suck, wednesday protein is the future. FFS just eat a little bit of everything and stop this madness.

    Santana

Went to the show last night, what a privilege to witness a true a legend, i have been to nearly every rock band on earth but i have never ever heard anybody play guitar like Carlos Santana. He is on another level. Brilliant show and big up to his percussionists and band they were simply masters of their craft. If anyone is thinking of going do yourselves a favour and go to this gig a tru masterclass
  21. Dude from listening to your story , i would suggest the following. Line up on race day and just enjoy the fact that you out there with your bike about to cycle around the best route on earth . Your time is irrelevant, enjoy the moment live the experience. Nobody cares if you do a sub 3 ,4 ,5, 6 ,, it all boils down to the experience YOU had. Think how lucky you are (we all are) that we have our health to ride , this whole time thing around teh Argus really spoils the race for most people and they dont realise it. The Argus is such a special event ones time should be the least of our concerns.
  22. If weather isnt to hot it will be a beauty

    Argus MTB

1200 people on a singletrack route = Bottlenecks galore, ill have Jonkershoek al lto meself ripping the ST up with nobody in sight.
  24. I agree withe the Op 100%. During the Argus i nearly got into a fist fight after i confronted an idiot who littered during the race. People who litter are pigs and should be named and shamed. There is no defence and they have not a leg to stand on. Most litterbugs who cycle in races are well off, informed individuals that know what they doing is wrong. They are just so self absorbed in their own ego to actually care about anything but themselves. If they belong to a club name and shame the club. A public forum like the hub is brilliant for exposing these idiots. To all that sit and try defend these morons STFU.
