ended up like this:

Eye opening to see. The skipper of the ill fated Ady Gill clearly accelerated deliberately to get in front of the Whaler, putting his boat and the lives of his crew in danger. I agree with the one commentator, this is not about whaling anymore. It looks more like a war for media attention.

What an idiot

I have had a lot of sympathy with the anti whaling lobby and its activists, but I am afraid all is not well. Deliberately ramming another craft is the same stupidity as burning a library because you are unhappy with university fees. Would they do the same if their ship was the bigger one?

The whaling ban has been extremely successful and most whale populations have recovered incredibly well over the past 3 decades. They are now much more in danger from pollution and depletion of their food sources than they are by whaling, whether by Japanese "researchers" or Inuit traditional hunters. Still, the activists concentrate on harassing three whaling ships and nothing else.

Perhaps it is to make their documentaries for National geographic and discovery? And to solicit donations and sponsorships?
