It truly is awesome to see these creatures making a comeback. I missed the Lions Head sighting on Sunday morning with about an hour. It was still buzzing when I arrived on the bike. In the past 5 years or so we have encountered them several times while cycling on Table Mountain. The last one I saw in Newlands Forest, about 50 metres from the Rhodes Memorial single track. The closest to civilization, was one in Lower Tokai, 25 metres from the nearest houses. (There are stories in that neighbourhood of domestic cats and small dogs disappearing......) We once came across one stalking a Cape Spurfowl above the Vredehoek quarry, but sadly we messed up its' lunch plans.

Thanks, very cool. It makes me want to get involved again again with conservation in a more hands on way.

Its an oldie, but I am sure Hubber could do better than this.

NO.10 gonna do that

Joggers seem unable to operate without earphones here in my valley, so I doubt that they will hear the encouragement. Meaning that they will assume that you are just a creapy stalker (btw, does Lurch have Eye of the Tiger on his car radio?) and might call the Buurtwag Ooms to come sort you out.
