This was Snowflake. A rescue we found in the estate two days ago.

Sadly Snowflake was very sick and tired when we found her. The person who caught her placed her in a used soap bucket to add to the hits against her.

Sadly she passed last night.

We tried our best with the lockdown in place. Gave her food and water and some heat.

She was a old bird, but I trust that she is in a better place now

Apparently one of the symptoms of Covid-19 is a loss of taste and smell. The mutt has just walked into the room we are working from and farted. Nothing wrong with our sense of smell.

:D  I'm alright too. Stella performs regular tests on the whole household.  :D

Had to say farewell to this old fella today - internal bleeding, a lower than normal body temperature, refusal to eat, little to no energy and difficulty breathing. Both the Vet and I agreed that X-rays would have just confirmed he needed to be put down to end the suffering.

You also friends with Wilson on FB

:D  :D A couple of months ago I watched a farmer friend work a flock of sheep with the help of his Collie. She is still a young dog and quite small and that morning they were gathering all the farms big rams, about 20 of them, to administer some medicine. The rams were many times her size with big curled horns and grumpy as hell, not at all inclined to listen to a little black & white hairball. She took no **** from them. She sat on the back of the quad bike and was happy to stay there as long as they kept on trotting down the farm road, but as soon as one went off to the side she would jump off and turn him back to the straight and narrow before jumping back on her ride again. All without stopping or any instruction, and extremely effective.

It wouldn't surprise me if that dog can herd sheep over the internet, or teach a class of Grade 10s some manners for that matter. She sure as hell can stick to a topic better than some Hubbers........what were we talking about.........Corona virus?

Back in primary school we had a Border Collie, which with no training or farm life used to herd our chickens (kapokkies?).

Then, when backed into a corner, the ones who jumped were picked off by our Irish Setter.

Wanted to like your post but the Irish setter picking them off part might (assuming worst case) might give the wrong impression, poor little chicks
