The Aussies are playing with apparent humility and focusing on the ball, not the man.

Their intensity seem relatively low. I reckon emotional fatigue and some jet lag from the new recruits.

Yeah they seem to be a bit flat. No surprise though after what happened during the last week.

I like the idea of their new captain shaking hands with all our players before the game started. It was a nice gesture, just to clear the air a little bit.

With all the rain forecast for the next 3 days we better bowl them out cheaply and enforce the follow on

More aussie cheating tactics exposed... Forcing our bowlers to bowl two innings in a row to make then tired [emoji23]

EDIT; Wait...what....why we batting again?

EDIT; Wait...what....why we batting again?

Morkel has a side strain. And Shaun Pollock reckons KG is also feeling a bit run down. Faf giving the bowlers a spot of rest and setting a world record chase for the Aussies. Our lead's already more than the highest successful chase at the Wanderers. And pitch also showing signs of variable bounce and a fair bit of spin too. I think Maharaj will be a serious handful when we bowl again.

What's with the sanctimony, Mr Waugh? https://es.pn/2uzDmap

I really enjoyed a linked article, The nastiest sledges in cricket.

the Ian Botham retort was damn sharp.

Players involved: Ian Botham and Rod Marsh

Series:1982-83 vs England in Australia

What happened:England's heroic allrounder strolled to the crease and was asked by Australian wicket-keeper Rod Marsh, "How's your wife and my two kids?" The unwritten code in the inner cricket sanctum is that sledging does not get personal, but when it does, the victim has every right to retort. And in this instance, Botham remained unperturbed replying;

"The wife's fine, the kids are retarded though," Botham said.

I hope that Faf and Dean comes out this morning and score at more than just 2 runs an over.. I get that our bowlers are tired (although they didn't bowl nearly as many overs as the Aussies did), but they've had an afternoon and evening and most of this morning to rest. One thing that really annoys me with SA sides is that they are not ruthless. If Aus were in the position we were in yesterday their batsman would've scored at a healthy rate to further crush and demoralize us.

Anyway, it seems like we're on our way to a 3-1 series win. Well done blommetjies! We may suck at ODI's and T20's, but test cricket is where it matters the most!

Whilst I understand that it is a test match. I also understand that the knife is buried in die Aussies back and we are twisting it. 39 runs off 180 balls by Elgar is pretty pathetic.

Yes I know that he considers himself as the sticker in the team. But really. Modern test cricket is a pretty fast moving affair. Drawn matches are not the norm anymore.

Anyway, just my opinion.

Jo, should cap'n Faf not have decleared after reaching his 100? Surely not much more is to be gained from a few more runs?

Plenty to be gained by really rubbing their noses in it.Declare at tea with 4 sessions left. Its probably going to piss down tomorrow

Morkel not likely to bowl in second innings. Rabada carrying an injury. We are going to win the series anyway. Keep the Ausies in the field as long as possible.

Comment from Crincinfo

Jordan Pickerin: "Faf, please can we open the bowling with De Villiers and Bavuma so that the commentators can keep saying "The bowling has been a bit short" irrespective of where they pitch it?"
