So we had friends kids over on Saturday night to babysit... The two 5 years old girls were watching Barbie (or something equaling soul destroying for boys) so I got out my old Technic Lego for the 8 year old boy... We built a very basic rolling chassis with steering. My daughter looks at it and says "Is that all?"

"Is that all?" <_< Pfftt, sounds like a gauntlet been thrown down! Challenge accepted then!

And this was what I ended up with... Something Lotus 7ish inspired:

My two year boy, trying not to destroy it:

I have been left to my own devices a bit too much of late...

Being at work on public holidays is actually bloody expensive...especially with a mall nearby!

Oh, if anyone sees this, please snap it up. Can't get hold of it anywhere!

edit: Also, I've noticed Toyz R Us are quite big on MegaBlocks. ToyZone in Boksburg has a dedicated - as in glassed-off - Lego area.

P.S. Looks like its in stock now:

Was messing about with a stop motion app I downloaded on my phone and my son's pirate Lego...

It was done very roughly (phone was handheld etc) as I was just experimenting, but I was pleasantly surprised:

Reminds me of a Grade 9 group assignment. We had to make a short film for our Arts & Culture class. So we made a mongrel of Star Wars X Harry Potter mashup in Lego Stop Motion. Was a lot of effort but we had so much fun. Here's the "original trailer" (embarrassment levels through the roof! )

Back then I used a point and shoot mounted on a tri-pod. I had to manually shoot every frame, which meant the camera re-focused and re-adjusted the WB for every frame. I would love to do a short again with the more modern equipment, but I do not have the time, patience, or creativity for such a project anymore.

Sorry if it has been covered here

Any thoughts on the Lego Dimensions now in the shops?

My son big on Lego & big on Lego video games

But the thing is kind of pricey, was wondering if other hubbers think it's worth it?
