Coffee machine

What machine do you have? Maybe someone local to me has the same one and i can use the basket for a day...

 

Now the Coffee Machine is a "nothing special" Russel and Hobs, but we have learnt to work with each other and I can get a rather respectable coffee out of her.

 

The little coffee basket measures in at a whopping 51mm dia. so the 50mm tampers would be what I am looking for.

First cup of coffee in my new place. Wasn't a great cup but was a great moment

 

Need to dial in the grind again....

I just made a moka pot and it was spurting/coughing quite badly. All over the floor. The previous few times this didn't happen. What would the reason be behind this? Not sure really what I did differently, except maybe to much coffee ground.

Sorry for only replying now, I paid R250 for the stainless alone and as it was made by a friend as a favour, it only cost me R250. If he has to make more he has to open a job card and the cost involved would be more than to buy it at your local coffee shop.

I got myself a new tamper last week. Nothing too fancy, but it's made a huge difference. I'm rancilio all round now. Rocky, Sylvia, and rancilio rose wood tamper. I'm a huge addict and coffeesnob!

Still loving my Nespresso machine but finding the Douwe Egberts #9 Lungo Estremo to be my choice over the more expensive Nespresso coffees

How is the Rocky? Been looking at it for a while. Not too expensive and gets really good reviews.

 

Is it noisy or not? My current cheap Burr is too loud in my opinion. Can't make coffee without waking up the apartment.

I love my rocky. It has a bit of a tendency to clump, but I have it dialed perfectly for my favorite beans now. It's still a bit noisy....

I read it should be around 77db

Mine is over 95db

So figured it should at least be quieter than the one I currently have.

 

Passed a big exam on Friday. So feel I should congratulate myself...

Having a small problem with my Oscar.

There is water leaking out of the portafilter whilst pulling a shot.

I back flush religiously. Is this a cleaning issue?

I recall weight Weenie having a similar issue with his a while back. Can't seem to find the suggested solution. The machine is only 5 months old.

Might be cleaning, might be the gasket - I posted a to do list in this thread.
