If she has a balance bike, then remove the fairy wheels from the new bike. They'll just hamper her development. If not, then remove the cranks and fairy wheels from the new bike, and treat it like a balance bike until she has the basics down. Then put the cranks back on and let her rip! What would you recommend? This. MUNA balance bike, 12 inch. WONDERFUL piece of kit. Steel, pretty darn light, and solid as a rock. Can get them from Sportsmans as well as your LBS. Price around a grand. Alu version is just under 2k. Best money I've ever spent.
