Why not... Hold the bar in place, and clamp one clamp on with your thumb then attach that one finger tight, then go to the next one? That way you don't have to slide it in...

 

lol. you dont get it either. 240 degrees!

 

let me hold your hand: draw a full circle. now draw concentric to that, an arc of 240 degrees. Now try and pull it away from the full circle in the radial direction (the reverse of what y'all suggesting).

I fell into the same trap, hairy. The face plate encompasses 240 degrees, without a hinge. Draw that, then draw the bars. Both 31.8mm diameter. See the problem?

The clamps opening isn't wide enough to go over the bars. Clamp opening is 80 deg. Clamp measures 31.8 at the widest point which I'd tdc to bdc or 0 deg to 180 deg.

Why did you not just say so in the beginning :ph34r: .
