once you have her cleaned up and stickered up consider giving her a coat or two of car polish to retain the sheen and not oxidize .... you may need to keep doing the car polish thing as part of your cleaning / maintenance routine. 

 

 

After doing some (depressing) calculations to see about a new bike, I decided to rather pimp up my old Zero29. I'd added a 120mm X fusion Trace fork a month or two ago, and have now ordered a set of carbon rims too. Finally, I want to polish the frame up again & put new decals on.

 

So yesterday I stripped the bike down, ripped the old decals off and started sanding. Will post updates as I go. This is frame 006.

Mmm. I did a lot of research on this, and that's what I heard - high quality car polish over clear coat.

Who did you get to do the decals for you?

looks really good

I used the local Signzone. Asked for silver metallic. They're a little too similar to the frame, but I think the frame will darken a bit over time. The wheels made the biggest difference. They're 1650 grams and 25mm internal. Bike feels much more nimble now.
