Let's hope this is the last we ever hear of DG...

I was thinking along the same lines...

I want to read this as "I am finished with cycling":

"‘Cycling, as you know, has been a confusing space and although it has given me incredible moments it has also given me experiences that no person or young athlete should have to go through."

Guess it is mostly wishful thinking on my side...?

“On 29th August 2012, I returned an out of competition positive test for Erythropoietin (EPO).

I will not be asking for a B sample to be tested as I know the result will ultimately be the same. This decision will be communicated to Cycling South Africa (CSA) and Drug Free Sport shortly and according to protocol.I fully understand the consequences of my admission and will bear the results of this.

Cycling, as you know, has been a confusing space and although it has given me incredible moments it has also given me experiences that no person or young athlete should have to go through.

I would like to apologise to my sponsors, who have given me every opportunity to chase a dream, and team mates, for whom I have the utmost respect. I will endeavour to make right where humanly possible.”

Really lame. What about those clean guys who just thought they weren't good enough to compete against him. What a p.o.s.

Can no one peddle a cycle without enhancers?!!!!

Jens can!

The sad part is that this is not even a surprise any more, more like 'oh there's another, who's next?' :( At least at this rate we'll end up being our own heroes soon lol well, those on here who don't dope :P

A general couple of quite serious questions:

1. How easily is EPO available through normal channels? I mean should I require it for medical reasons, I guess I won't be popping down to Clicks for a quick dosage? Reading through the LA testimonials it seems like a real ball ache to source it, driving around all over Europe and what not.

2. So from question 1, where did he most likely get it?

3. And if it is very hard to source, like you have to go through serious murky underworld dealings or corrupted doctors etc etc, then I'd imagine the demand must be much grater than just one guy for it to be available.

Well a little respect for DG, at least he was doping like a champion instead of sniffing tiger balm or some other crap..

1. My pharmacist.

2. My pharmacist (edit, George probably doesn't use my pharmacist)

3. My pharmacist

That's a better if slightly more expensive route than online, cause he provides me the correct dosing advice.

Lance and co drive all over the show, cause transporting the scheduled medicines across borders in Europe is a criminal offence (they were in essence drug traffickers and attempting to hide their tracks). The drug itself is relatively simple to obtain.

Howzit King George aka David

Since you are now banned from all upcoming events for your unsavory habits and all, I was wondering if I could take over your entry for W2W RACE

I will gladly pay for it, but maybe a freebee would be a good idea to balance the Karma, you need all the good Karma you can get.

PM me if you are keens.

Shot Buddy - Keep the faith - Tyler did and he got a hot babe and lekker hairdo out of it.

I'm deeply disappointed, suppose it was just a matter of time before the pro mtb scene be exposed to this rubbish. Feel sorry for James and Kevin, just hope they "really" were unaware of this.

“It’s a shock. George is a convert to mountain biking from road cycling. Mountain biking gave him a chance to re-start his cycling career after a European road career that was starting to taper. Many SA mountain bikers might feel that he has let down the sport that gave him a second chance in his cycling career. It's a sad day for South African Mountain Biking. Personally, I'm sad and angered that the sport in which I’ve invested 10 years of my life, and worked so hard at making more professional in South Africa, has now also been tainted by this disease within the sport of cycling.”

That's a sad comment.

It's a sad day for sport.

I hate this reference to "the disease in cycling". There's no disease. There's human beings involved in making choices.
